You may get there and like the AN speakers better, who knows. Most of their speakers are based on the genius of Peter Snell's designs before he died on the factory floor at 38 yoa of a heart attack. Peter Q uses far more expensive and current parts and cabinets, but the design philosophy is the same. I owned two of Peter Snell's designs, the Type AII and the Type E. The AN's like corner loading like the Snell designs. The Reynaud's are more musically involving and like space around them.
 
One of my first "good speakers" were snell j II.They were a very nice start on a never ending journey-for the immediate future using a (ahem) slightly used harbeth 30.1.But i can envision getting a very good deal (as a repeat customer) on a pair of 40's or strads.Hope joe gets at least one and maybe both very soon!

Joe - I thought I read that you were cancelling your order for the Harbeth 40.1s, is that still true? I know things can change rapidly and I may have missed an update. Best of luck with whatever you choose, and I know that you have been craving the Sonus Faber Stradivaris for quite a while now and I'm sure that you'll be happy with them!

My Strads should be here soon. I was getting frustrated with the wait on the 40.1's and was going to cancel them, then I heard them. Wow! I thought, these are awesome. Not Strads awesome, but awesome nonetheless. At that point I decided to let the order go through and whenever they come, fine. I only put down a small deposit so it's not like all my money is out there. The Strads will no doubt be here before the 40.1's, which is fine by me.

they are the same as my kingdom gr just black instead of the deep cherry that I have .. But recently saw the back and even though most like the wood I lovvvvvvved the carbon fiber patter it looked wild
 
Anytime . But be prepared to take them with you .. That Tannoy sound just gets you lol
 
Go listen Joe and see what you think compared to the 40.1's you heard. I bet that deep cherry is gorgeous and you like that dark wood.:celebrate008_2:
