I had a Job 225 in the studio today for a grounding upgrade. I played it on the D3's and then played the Telos 280. I also just installed the Emm Labs Dac2x and the TSDX transport and they are not broken in of course, although right out of the box my digital took a significant leap upwards, more to follow on this in a few weeks.
The Job225 sounds VERY similar tonally to the Telos 280, the differences are in power which translates into weight and more body to the overall sound, as well as top end air, which I think is just the JOB225 with it's limited power not being able to squeeze that top end air and extension that you get with the Telos 280, but this again is on the D3's.
If you were driving an easier load that did NOT require any more power than the Job225 could deliver then I think that you would have very close sonics to what you would have if you were listening to a Goldmund Telos 280. The 280 allows you to drive a more difficult load, but at 10X the cost.

Oh btw failure on the granite. It's big enough for 4 of those 16x22 slabs but I realized the piece that I mentioned were underneath it were concreted to the bottom. Lol
I'm have no idea why but I tried to pry them off and couldn't without breaking it.

:heart:Thx for checkin' out the stone. I have some "movement" going on so I am going to hold off on the marble slabs for the moment. I have the D3's on the granite tiles and they have never been better. Steve, wait until you hear this Emm Labs stuff....omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha, i think you just ran right into good digital!What I've found is airborne/mechanical vibration is the biggest killer of digital & the best isolation is paramount.

I am stunned......can you believe 3 or 4 times the overall soundstage resolution than I previously was listening to and my previous set up was a $30K set up that really did not sound too bad. But now- all I can say is I am stunned.
I wonder how all that would sound with a $20K Illusonic immersion setup (8 parallel Dacs and proprietary DSP algorithm). Sweetspot for everybody, real High Def sound experience. Just chatted with them and I am going to see if I can get a demo arranged close to home! With your quality gear and this processor...you might never leave the studio! LoL

Norman, trust me I'm already there.....I've found my digital, no longer even interested in comparisons.....it doesn't matter:audiophile:
+1 - hard to beat the Meitner MA-1 (or any of the EMM Labs products) which are all backed by a solid company.

Hi Mike, I know that there are so many top flight digital systems out there....MSB, DCS and all of the "new kids on the block", which I can't even keep track of as it seems like every day I hear about something new in digital, BUT I know for certain that there may be other digital systems out there that are equal to what I am hearing with the Emm Labs gear, but I would bet a tidy sum that what I am listening to is SOTA and would compete with anything in the digital universe. I am a very happy camper....it feels so good:satisfying:
Digital is a funny thing. I've heard the $100,000 DCS stack and it was good - but $100,000 good? I've enjoyed the Linn products, but their public resistance to DSD is what has held me back. Now that Sony and others are behind it - DSD has a chance.
Its not really the same...this is multi speaker immersive sound. Not a competitor to traditional stereo...its not about the quality of the Dac per se, its the specific DSP implementation that reproduces the LIVE concert hall experience.
