:scholar:

Hi Nelson, please bring them all! Or as many as is convenient. It's a long story, but I don't have a lot of my vinyl at the studio right now.

Everyone, when traveling or in the city you can ALWAYS get me at 212-229-1842 that forwards to my cell if I am not at the studio. If ANYTHING comes up or you have a question about anything just call and I will do my best to assist.

I'm bringing my trusty demo CD (and 5 copies for whomever wants one). I will be arriving around 1pm and have to leave by 5pm.

Now that I've heard VAC with D3's, I can tell everyone you are in for a big treat.

Ok Bob.
Do you have a Cart Demag?

I got a little change of plans. I think I'm taking the train up. So I need to either figure out a way to carry all the albums I was bringing or I need to leave em at home.
I'd love a copy of your demo cd mike. I need something to help break in my speakers, and my 4 cd's I own are boring me to death.
I need at least 2 albums only way I can gauge stereo sound is either Joni Mitchell or Maria muldaurs voice.
If I do take the train I'll be at penn station around 9:45 and walk up to rhapsody. Figure I can hear the c1.1's before you guys get there, cause I know I'm the only one interested in those.
Best of luck on your travels !!!

I must have missed it if you talked about the VAC's on the D3's in another thread. What VACs? Power? How did it sound....curious???

A little VAC 100/100 (stereo amp - 100 watts per channel). My friend paid about $1100 for it. Original MSRP was maybe $4k. We listened for 7 hours and it was incredible. Drove the D 3's with ease. Best I've ever heard them. Tubes and Raidho DO mix. Michael from Raidho said VAC was one of his top 3 pairings with his speakers. Now I know why!

Steve, Actually you will be walking down from PS:) You get out of PS around 32nd and I'm on 24th....5-10 minute walk. I will set up the C1.1's which I am glad to say will have about 300 hours on them by Tuesday. What amps should I connect them with? I have the Merrill Veritas amps, the Goldmund Telos 280 and then the Absolare amps....(stupid question), I already know the answer, but please confirm what amps:)

I'm so glad that you already realize about the tubes and the Raidho's mixing well together. It's a pretty magical combination, but of course SS lovers might not like it for whatever reason. I love the D3's with pretty much anything I put on them at this point, 300+ hours, but when you put the tubes on them, it takes it to another level, for me personally. I've said it before, I really like having a great SS set up and then a great tube set up, for all kinds of reasons.

I must say that with what the D3's do for me personally if I had X amount of $$$ to spend I know that I would be totally happy with the VAC amp and the D3's vs. more expensive electronics and another speaker.....I just love the ribbon tweeters.

I'm hoping to be there, too. Work is crazy, so not 100% sure.

I do work in the city so if I have to work I might be able to squeeze away for a few hours! Here's hoping!

Steve,

Maybe I could meet you at Penn Station and we can take a cab to see Bob?

Contact me.

Hahaha!!! It's all tubes and vinyl for me. My amps are 100w so if they run smooth on the absolare they will surely run smooth on snappers.
I'm actually interested in the combo of absolare and c1.1.
My original plan was to keep the snappers and find a nice tube stereo amp. For a differnt type of sound. Like an ARC . Or maybe a vintage Mac .
But trading the snappers up for a real nice pair of tube monos is definitely a future possibility.
