If I wasn't set on a convertible (yes, I want one damn it!) - it would be the Cayman GTS all day long. The Boxster is a possibility, especially the Spyder.
Darrin - I can only imagine. The Turbo S would be my choice, but its a little beyond my budget. C4S seems like the best bet for now. C2S is nice, but the C4S is a better bet with wet roads on hot pavement.
4 sure get the AWD. But having driven the turbo and and the GTS 4S I would opt for targa 4s all day long before any of those.
Targa 4S over turbo and GTS 4S?
Can't get into Targa looks.Yes targa over the gts 4s - unless you are buying for the track then I would step up to turbo

I will drive a C4S and a Boxster S as well.
My friend wants me to drive a California too.

I test drove the California. Beautiful car but not a great drivers car.
Since you're getting into R8 territory, you should drive one of those as well. And instead of a California, consider a couple year old 458. IMO the California has just had all the edges softened too much.
911's are pretty hard to argue with however![]()
Mike -
You are certainly doing your homework.
Looking forward to your impressions on the Boxster S and 991. The balance on the Boxster is fantastic albeit a bit underpowered.
I'm not sure I like the looks of the R8 or not. Can't decide. At first glance, yes, then a longer look and hmmm....not sure.
