Four Seater Convertible

If Audi would get rid of that big black stripe on the side, it would be much sexier!

Agree. I had a R8 V10 Plus negotiated and ready to buy (all black so no interruption of the flow of lines), but then I asked my boss who owns about 30 cars (rents an airplane hanger to store them) if gun to head which one car would he keep (he owned 2 R8s one of which was GT v10). He said it was a draw between his 458 and 911 Turbo. And the 911 would probably win because it was a better daily driver. I wasn't sold on Porsche - my oldest brother (who got me hooked on audio) has a '12 911 Carerra S and I rode in it once and felt like it was too stiff and too much road feel. I was about to buy the R8 and a bunch of people said it was great but didn't have soul and to check out Porsche and Maserati (V12). That's when I swung by Porsche and test drove. It was when I got in the Turbo and then turbo S that I understood why my boss was saying. And the Targa oh the Targa is special

I'm not sure I like the looks of the R8 or not. Can't decide. At first glance, yes, then a longer look and hmmm....not sure.

The Regula kit fixes any issues with the front end looking pedestrian. I would totally rock that!

There are a lot of cars in E-Prod, I ran a 2nd Gen RX-7. Also had a ridiculously fast SPO class RX-7, well over 500hp at the wheels.

cool. I've run hundreds of track day miles at the enthusiast level, coached by SCCA guys like yourself. I started with a track-prepped M5 by frank fahey and was a regular in the quickest run groups (local BMWCCA chapter). I later met a Porsche I had to own and it snow balled into 15-30 track days a year.

Well, I got to have a long test drive a couple of days ago of the BMW M4 Cab. I have to say, I was shocked at how good this car was. For a big heavy car, it was quite nimble. The BMW Sport Exhaust made it sound BAD ASS. The back seat is usable by adults. With everything on dynamic mode, the car handled amazingly well and rode GREAT. Downsides? The SMG (or whatever they call it) was herky jerky regardless of setting. Also, the trunk with the roof down was unusable, the trunk with the roof up was almost unusable with hunks of metal sticking out and odd looking pieces that would make putting anything like golf clubs awkward to say the least. You would have to go up and over this box jutting out.

But overall, I was really surprised at how good this car was.

My M4 has that tranny. It can be a bit jerky during casual driving; however, for performance driving it's terrific. Very fast up and down shifting.

Mike - You can add Dinan computer tuning to get this baby to 515 HP for very little money ($2K - less than a good power cable!)

I need to drive this car again for sure.

Mike, my brother bought his wife a Porshe Cayenne with the go fast motor. She uses launch control to shut the kids up in the backseat

Thanks Kev. I want to drive the Cayman S/GTS for S&G, but it's not a convertible. But I do like it's little bit extra cargo space.

So far this week I drove the 911 C4S. It was fantastic, BUT, the AWD caused the front to feel just a little heavy in the front end. Nothing terribly notable, probably 10% kind of thing, but it's there. That being said, I prefer the wider ass end look of the C4S to the C2S, and knowing the AWD is there if you need it is a comfort.

I still want to drive a C2S, turbo and GTS.

Porsche is coming out with new series (991.2) in September. By multiple accounts, ALL new 911's will have a small turbo now. The C4S will go to approximately 410-420 hp as an example. This ought to cause the 911 faithful to scream bloody murder I suspect.

Those same people went nuts when they went from air cooled to water cooled engines too. I suspect everyone will get over it in time.

My favorite after all the test drives is the 911 GTS cab. Awesome sound. Plenty of power. Prefer the RWD over AWD "feel".
