Where's all the Shindo owners?

Shindo Cortese, Shindo Giscours, Shindo Petite Latour field coil, Shindo Mr T power supplies.
AMR Dp-777 Shiit Loki, Linn LP12se Auditorium 23 SUT. Mac Mini.

It's great to finally see a pic with the PL in-situ Bill! Your system looks wonderful, but it also did with the Lafites!

Hi Mike,

Going from Raidho to Harbeth and from Rowland to Shindo if like going from re-constructed molecular lobster tail with Beluga caviar to a T-bone with mashed potatoes (and plenty of gravy). Or, well, the other way around as I do not intend to offend neither audiophiles nor food enthusiasts.
How comes you can enjoy both sounds, they are as dissimilar as a Rolls and a Lamborghini (once again, won't say which is what) or a Metallica gig and Bach cantatas (same disclaimer)?
Just thought that your experience allowed you to define your priorities by now...

I do not agree.
Vanilla and chocolate ice creams are very different. I
enjoy both.
High End sound systems are different flavors.
We can enjoy many of them.
Of course, we can end up with a clear preference when we find the system that truly makes our soul vibrate. But the path may be long.
What matters is to have fun along the pathway.
We're all going to the same place.

Thanks Damian. I need to take some higher quality pictures... need Matt's expertise. The PL are all I hoped they would be, and getting better as they get some hours on them.

I still love the wood on you Latour, though. Very striking! You should post a few pictures.

Just to clarify, the Raidho system isn't going anywhere. The Raidho's are in my family room. In that room, I have tried Revel, Sonus Faber, Magico S5. The Raidho's, by far, work the best.

I have already purchased speakers for my main room (Spatial Statements). If they don't work out, I get my money back and will explore other options at that time, including Harbeth.

My experiences are helping me narrow in on speakers which should work better in my difficult main listening room. The design of the Spatial Statements should lend itself well to better integration into that room.

Mike

Hey loops! Great to finally see some photos of your sweet system! Fantastic speakers. What drivers are in the PLs?

Has anyone heard the new Partager preamp? New this year, apparently it sits between the Aurieges and the Monbrison. Any idea of price?

That's great to hear, so worth the move from the Lafite?

My skills with a camera are also sorely lacking, and would likely do them a massive injustice. Maybe one day...

Chris, I have not yet opened the back to look, but both appear to be Altec. They have been refurbished and modified by Shindo to field coil. The drivers are different than Stephen's PL on Matt's site. His short review is what has held my attention for a couple of years and I feel he hit the nail on the head.

My pictures are not very good and really do not show how stunning the wood cabinets turned out.

Thanks!

Ok wise Shindo ones, what Shindo amp/preamp would you recommend for my new speakers (the statement model here: http://www.spatialaudio.us/lumina/)

I know this means no remote, moving my rack and going single ended....but I'm open to new ideas.

Mike I think you need to get the speakers in and listen to them first before making a decision on this. The woofers have their own amp, the midrange is passive which leaves the tweeter in need of amplification. Will this allow the true Shindo sound, or any other amp of this type, to be heard? If you go SET will 10-15 watts be enough power? On paper it looks good with the speakers ratings but real world could be different. I say hook up what you have now to them and find out if they will take care of that room issue. If they do, then start from there.

That's the plan Doug.....I'm just dreaming a little. :)
