Where's all the Shindo owners?

So far after 4 days with the 300B amp. I'm still prefer my 275. ( this might change when I get better tubes for 300B)

The 75 watts (KT88) gives more fuller sound with bigger stage. But I do have to admit that 300B gives pretty voice tone. :)

I need some information about Shindo Labs Appetite 6V6 Integrated Amp.

Someone can chime in ? How is the 6V6 sounds ?

Paul, I like the 6V6 sound. Rich, creamy, linear tube. Not quite the midrange magic as an EL34 but I find it has a tighter, more prominent bottom end. The highs are decent too.

i still dont think a single integrated is going to fill those big speakers in your pretty big room paul, your talking a single 12w integrated.you need to try a pair of monos, especially if you like some of the pluses of the 300b the monos will be different. the reason i did not make some kind of whacky deal to get that t1500 to my house, is because i dont think it would drive my speakers properly. my room is smaller but my speakers are only 90db. gotta find the right setup with the right amp for your situation. id say keep the 275's rolling as your primary amps and keep demoing . deinitely try the a5000's . maybe see if you cant find some a6000's to test. an some shindo if there is any near you as well.
i think before you give up on the whole 300b thing you must find the right ones for your situation. flea powered amps are tough to ge right. when you do you will be in heaven.
did you try the little unison on there yet?? maybe 845's with a little more power are better for you ?? don go crazy, i think your journey has just begun.lol.

I think Steve's got a good point here Paul. Even though your speakers are of a high sensitivity, you're trying to move those big 15" woofers. The integrated you have now will give you a taste of what is possible. Adding more watts to the equation will be much more fruitful in terms of the sound quality you're looking for. I'm sure Mark will lend you some more powerful 300b monos when you are ready. You might like the outcome enough to swap some of your other gear for them. Or just write a check, that works too! :)

The QC problems mentioned in the recent Stereophile review of Raven concerns me - greatly.

Paul,

I had the Apetite for about one year.
Excellent little amp.
But more suited to secondary systems than main ones. Shindo makes much much better.

i read that too!!! the monos started smoking .lol. how embarrassed dave thompson must have been. i talked to him, he seems very sincere and he seems like he knows his stuff.
and he loves amps!!! he mentioned there might be a pair coming this way for a review and he would let me know where i could go hear them. everyone has some problems. my 2nd brand new BAT vk60 mono blew up 3 times and back and fourth to the company it went. while the older mono i bought used never had one issue. its a shame they had to put that in print it puts a scar on the company. i just feel if i did the 36w stereo amp, and kept the carys too. then i could keep the cornwalls, keep my veneres and get some raidho x1's and have a great selection of speakers all that i could drive with no problems.
see where im going?? i want that damn raidho tweeter in my house, but i want to hear 300b's only anymore.lol. and i wont rest until i make it work.lmao!!!!

True, but you only have to ship to TX to get it fixed instead of half way around the world. But I'm one to talk right! :)

I'm probably going to get a pair of 300b amps next week. Retro style. Stay tuned for details.

I'll give you a hint....I won't have to go far to get them fixed if any problems arise! :)
