What are you watching?

When I write from my Ipad I keep it short.

The Olympics, especially the winter ones, show sports that I don’t care about and I am totally bored by. I don’t like ice skating and if you have seen one Luge run you have seen them all, it’s so repetitive. I can’t stand the constant hype on the shows. Even the NBC new shows become solely about the games. NBC takes of the air it’s regular shows and all the other networks show repeats.

I may be less of an American and not patriotic, but I don’t root for Americans because I feel no attachment at all to these players. I do NOT feel we are a better country if our contestants win.

Finally, and something we are loath to discuss is that the Olympic games are corruptly chosen and run and still get some government support. Look at Russia, look at the past games. They are put in country with oppressive human right records. It’s terrible.

There is good and bad in the Olympics, no doubt about it Barry. ...I could easily write two books about it.

The good is in the young athletes participating for joy, for peace with the rest of the world.
The bad is in the back door deals with the judges to favor this pair of figure skating athletes, even if they aren't the best, and to discredit the truly best.
{Did you hear about the Canadian skating pair, and the Russian's and American's deal behind the scene? ...Right here in Sochi in 2014.}

Yes, human rights are violated all around the world, and every single day! It's up to us to denounce it, or accept it.
...Up to the big shots, because the small shots cannot do anything about it. ...But we are the ones who elect our representatives in them big shot roles, with their big pay cheques.

Anyway, I don't want to talk about the insanity (politics), this is just too sick to watch!

Tonight we get another nor'easter a big storm! Hope I am not blacked out.

The heck with the force, I hope the electricity is with me. Allen, I order three reve.l 990 in wall speakers for my surrounds and rears.

No power; no sound, no Star Wars, no force, no Star Trek, no "beam me up Scotty", no Olympics!
...Only cold, snow, ice, darkness, and road's accidents.
Might as well stay at the strip joint tonight. ...Get some warm blankets to cover yourself under them strippers. ;)

Bob, I think I like to start a new topic called, Great Movies! I just saw the last emperor. Today, it's bad weather and I am about to put on "TheThird Man". They are both great films and are both part of the Criterion Collection. Now if I can only get the strippers through the snow.

Barry, no need to go anywhere else or start something new; we have everything you just asked for right here. ...Even the strippers. :)
...Right in this thread here!

* Last night I revisited this great flick ::

-> The Bootleg Cut - Director's Edition, on Blu-ray and in 2D.
{It's a click-on thing, like always.}

Last night, I revisited this flick (I've seen this one several times already) ::

By the way, some people watch a movie only once and that's it, others can watch a movie a dozen times and even more.
The cinematique essence (viewing experience) is a personal one.
The value contained in a movie is different for each individual person.

For me, personally, I simply love these last two mentioned movies directed by Giuseppe Tornatore.
...'Cinema Paradiso' and 'La Leggenda del Pianista sull' Oceano' ('The Legend of 1900').
...And not just for the story, but also for the cinematography and the musical score. ...Magnificent!

<> Movies and Music are often an escape from reality, a closer look @ a more peaceful/acceptable world;
one from which we are not directly involved with, but simply passive participants, with virtual emotions.

'Amadeus' is a cool flick. ...Entertainment/story/acting wise, visually and auditory.
