What are you watching?

* And yes Martin; 'Super Speedway - The Mach II Special Edition' on Blu-ray (Region Free playback disc) is a Must Have for people like you and I. ...And for everyone else too. It is one of my Reference Blu-ray discs in my collection. ...Picture, Sound, and Story wise.

Hey Bob, I just wanted to let you know that I received the Blu-ray of Super Speedway and it is everything you said it would be. Stunning picture and sound, great story and those in-car shots around the speedway are something else. Many thanks for the recommendation :)

First, after reading Martin's response and your suggestion, I just ordered Super Speedway!!!!!! Thanks guys!

Yes I am still watching Star Trek the next generation . Bu I did have time to watch Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine. I thought it was a very good movie with a good cast but Cate Blanchett was terrific and the main reason for watching this movie. Yet, I probably will not see it again for very long time. I finally there are movies about bad people I am not drawn back into them quickly. Such a movie this year was Bad Adult. A good movie but not necessarily one that I would run back to. When I think of it the only movie that had a bad center character that I have gone back to several times is Goodfellows.

Again I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it, but not one that I would see often.

That is awesome Martin; it was a very rewarding experience for me (on all my senses) when it was first released a long time ago on DVD (1997), and then I bought the Blu-ray on its release date (2009), and when I learned that you enjoyed Formula 1 races, I knew that you would enjoy too.

* That title belongs in any serious car lover/racing car lovers/adrenaline rush seekers/highly calibrated sound and picture lovers/great life's story movie collection; excellenty well done documentary of the highest level. This will super boost your ultra high-end sound system to the next higher plateau. ...And you can use it too in your high-end home theater system, where it actually would be at its very best.

Last night I revisited this, with all the Extras ::

I don't have to repeat myself:
This is high caliber filmmaking based on a top-notch true story of human courage and highest human values.

And technically it is also highly ranked, by me. ...Four and a half stars (out of 4) all across. ...Picture & Sound.

And, it is essential viewing, and learning about The Lone Survivor's Story.
All the guns and the gear in the world are nothing compared to that.

My wife and I watched this last night. A few days ago I read her the entire transcript of the UT Austin commencement speech by Adm. McRaven, where he spoke of the life lessons learned in Navy Seal training. Adm. McRaven Urges Graduates to Find Courage to Change the World | News

A most inspiring speech, and seeing the clips in the beginning of the film really brought home the rigor of the training. Watching the film shows the benefits of that kind of conditioning.

I have saved a couple folks in my day (in my sea kayak), so I have some confidence when things are going to hell I can somehow keep my cool, but to have bullets whizzing by my head in a firefight, well thats something else all-together. God Bless those who serve. If I make it to heaven, I'll want thank you all.

Tachen Cover.jpgHi Bob:

Tachen announced the book and I think today is my last day of working on it. I am getting the Time Machine and just got Paths of Glory on blu. I also ordered another early Kubrick film, "Fear and Desire" and should have some fun watching that too! And I'll get to finish my Star Trek The Next Generation.

Good movie. It is subtitles. Set in France. In the 1700 time period. It has received good reviews and I agree with the reviews.
A couple of things you need to pay attention to if are going to get this movie. There are two versions out there make sure the version has english subtitles. One does the other doesn't. Once you have finished the movie (150minutes) you want to check out the extra's.

The Mauritanian - pretty fitting and timely, maybe by design, relating to what is now in the news every day. Out of 779 "Terrorists" held at GITMO using our money to torture them, they have secured 5 real convictions. The movie was done well and is a true story.

I do recommend this one.

I recently saw A Clockwork Orange and National Lampoon Animal House. These two cult films just don't have anymore. Both films we all said thumbs down on these unanimously.

I agree worth the watch.

Squid Game on Netflix. Reminds me of a spin on the Hunger Games theme but Korean version. Who will die and who will live to win the grand prize.. Hey, it’s number 1 spot on Netflix
