What are you watching?

Ok, I'm going to add some more here, and not everyone will know that; and to help I will remind the readers once in a while.

This is something I usually do at most audio/video sites that I frequent, except for one where links are not allowed for some 'bizarre' reason.

EVERYTIME that I post a Movie that I have been watching the previous night,
and also ANY Music recording that I am listening to and post;
I always attach a picture cover, but not only that; by clicking on that picture cover (Movie and Music),
it'll bring you directly to a review, all the specs, often the current price available at Amazon.com (Movies),
and biography plus free music samples (Music).

And I always do that! ...Why? Because it gives you, the reader, the full arsenal to go further in depth on the subject, to expand your knowledge, and to provide you with the best tool of the highest caliber so that you know if it's worth it at the end to invest your own time and few dollars there.

But, I will always give you my take first, of course, and once in a while I disagree with a reviewer; if this happens I'll always let you know.
If I make no comment on the reviewer and his review, it means that I generally agree with him, overall.
But if he makes a 'mistake' in one department or another; like by losing the 'realistic touch' with the ensemble of people who forms our society, or that I strongly disagree with him/her, I am one of the best critics of critics around, IMHO.

Direct, straight to the center of the heart, mind, and soul, like a shinning arrow, you'll get it from me, in full honesty and always politely. I'm first a truth seeker in life, always have been, and will die knowing it.

Magic is as powerful as long as you keep it secret; not revealing the trick.
No magic with me, if I like I say, if I don't like, that too I say.

* Now, my last two posts (#19, and #20), from the previous page, you can click on their picture covers.
-> I did not start earlier because this site is still new and things are not fully operative yet.
But that's ok with me, because I always find my way around. :) ...Took me few days with this one, and with the help of Paul, thx Paul (BlueMcIntosh); one of the best people from anywhere online. ...He happens to be Canadian too, so what do you know!

Alright, I'm not the 'talker' type, but more the 'action' type; so on with the show! :D

...And in case you don't know me well yet, take what I say for its true face value; always with a sense of humor.
Each person has its own viewpoint, and on everything. ...I always respect that. ...No interference, ever. :)

On with the Show! ...Movie Time! ...Pass the popcorn to Grand Ma, Grand Pa! :D

Samsara | On Blu-ray

Yesterday I was reading, here at AS. ...And I stumbled upon one of Nelson Pass' posts.
And that inspired me to re-watched this, last night:

--

* I said it before, at other audio forums; if you love music and beautiful cinematography, then you Must acquired this on Blu-ray.
There are simply no words here to describe. ...So, there are none coming from me; just buy the Blu-ray and tell me later on if I was wrong.
{It's a click on bonus feature; picture cover.}

Before last night, revisited:

--

* Rocks at few spots; sound wise.
...And I really like that young actress; she's quite photogenic and charming. :)
{The reviewer did overrate it though; by about one point and a half; all across the board. - Click it!}

* True movie! :D ...Tom Cruise's in it too.

...

Is that Dakota Fanning? She was pretty good in that role! A fun movie for the family!

'Despicable Me' - 3D

Last night I re-watched for the x number of times the 3D version of this great animated moving picture; on my 3D plasma HDTV:

I pretty much agree with all the reviews of this excellent Blu-ray title (you can click on the above picture cover if you want to).

Short intro

We are here, in this Movie section, of the Off Topic Forums.

___________________

Yes, this website is first and foremost an Audio Forum place. ...About Music reproduced by our sound systems.
...Which is our HEARING sense.

Music is Sound: HEARring sense ... the EAR.
Movie is Picture: VIEWing sense ... the EYE.

* Just thought of making that clear. :D

BUT! When we mix our Ears and Eyes together, what do we get? ...That's right; a Live musical event right in front of our very eyes and ears.
OR! A motion picture with sound. ...And that sound, from that moving picture, can be indeed of "audiophile" caliber.
...With high resolution surround sound. ...DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1-channel, Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel, or Linear PCM 7.1-channel.
...All Lossless audio, original to the main created recordings for the Cinema Theaters, by the professional sound movie recording engineers, mixers, mastering editors, and special sound effects, plus orchestral music played and recorded by some of the best in the movie and music business. ...The music recording engineers, the music directors, the music composers, and the professional musicians (music players).
And many of them, on Blu-rays, are pure delight in their rendition of the grandiose splendor from that music being reproduced by our surround sound systems, and multichannel loudspeakers; plus multi subwoofers.
You got the picture? :) ...True, plus you have the motion picture to go with it! ...Second best to the best live musical performances; like by assisting to a great live classical music concert performance, at a great hall venue for example.

Well, in my book Movies have as much importance and impact (emotionally and sensory) as Music.
We're still talking about Sound, delivered from our Audio sound systems; but we now add Motion Pictures into the equation. PLUS! Multichannel Surround Sound.

A musical Blu-ray concert, with multichannel hi-res audio; is it Movie, or is it Music?
Do you need a hi-res Audio sound system to listen to it? Yes!
And do you also need a hi-def screen display to view it? Yes!
Of course, you can choose only one of the above and it is still possible to live without dying.
It's our choice at the end; but me I choose Music, with Motion Picture. ...Seems like the most decent alternative.
...In this case here. ...Blu-ray music concerts. ...And Blu-ray movies too. ...Hi-res Audio, plus hi-def Picture.

Why did I just mention all that? Because it's a fact that sometimes some of us we completely forgot about, and we put our priorities where our old original/standard habits are. ...Die hard under the heavy rotations of analog dreams.
...An experimental drug that we keep mixing with and injecting through our veins, and through the years, but not in vain.

- Ok, last night I watched this:

--

=> Directed by David Cronenberg (1991), a Canadian movie director with a very unusual/unique style;
in form and in delivery.
Most of you have probably already seen this flick. ...If not, go ahead and indulge yourself. You might like what it brings to your own table, to your own dream's perception.
Cronenberg is one my favorite movie directors, and this film here, is a good example why.

P.S. If you want to have a look at more info, just click on its picture cover, above.
And then, google the guy from wikipedia. ...Reenter Cronenberg's world.

Some Iggy's music is in 'Repo Man', and Iggy was born on the same day as I.

Iggy is the godfather of Punk Rock music, and Patti Smith is the godmother of Punk/Rock poetry.
Iggy's ok (I only have few of him in my collection), but Patti is huge in my life!

* Christoph Waltz is fun to watch, but for the rest I didn't care much, truly.

And if a film doesn't turn me on (same as with music), then I don't really care about the technical aspects; they won't change the true real value.

And that was my very short opinion. :cantstoplooking: :boing: :cantmove:

P.S. The new emoticons are brand new, so I am experimenting with them right now, but eventually you won't see any from me, only when perfectly appropriately well positioned.
...Perhaps more because I am a "smiley" type of guy. But I know some people who hate them and never use any. Good for them, not god for me.
- And as a reminder; you can click on that above BD picture cover.
...And the same with 'Repo man' from my above post.
