And nobody, and I mean no one, no two people set their turntables exactly the same.
...And have the same set of ears, music genre preferences, same room, same gear, listen @ the same exact volume level.

Seriously consider the Lumin after you buy a TT setup.

Would you tell them to make a black as NO COST option ? I might pull the trigger if they can do that :) Yes...These days I like to save all the pennies as I could....:( .
 
Paul - I would get your black Lumin and whatever is left over, get a table/arm/cart. The Project XTension 12 Evolution with an Ortofon Candenza Bronze would be a superb value. A friend of mine just bought this combo and it sounds excellent and looks gorgeous. Even a Linn LP12 too. And you know I'm a fan of VPI, but you've said you don't want to go down that path. Ok, no problem. You ideally want two great sources. Can you give us a little history on your experience with tables in your system? If it's not extensive, you may want to start with a modest, but still great sounding, vinyl rig.

Also, how many LP's do you have?

I really like your idea and thanks for continuing support. I do have about 200 ish lp's. But most of them are from 80's heavy metal which I do not listen to them in my home anymore. So your suggestion do make sense. Thanks Mike
 
The Kronos is superb. As the owner of 2 very fine tables, an SME 20 and a Sota Star Saphire (purchased used in 1989) both with SME arms, I too am tempted! And, I have a Lumin, which currently is getting major preferential play.
 
Since I'm getting a new TT this year, it's a good time to join this forum. One of the tables on my short list is TTW Audio, which is outside Toronto! I found them on Audiogon, and they make a lot of sense. Paul, they list showroom hours on their website. Along with the TTW eliminator, I'm also considering a George-Warren. My budget is a little lower at around $4,000.

nice table, in my listening experience you need to spend a little more on clearaudio tables to get the same sound quality as other companies. not all other companies but some. just from what i heard of course i shouldnt say anything since ive never had one in my system for more than a month. :roflmao: sorry couldnt help myself.lol.
seriously they are nice looking tables like the avids. this is just my opinion paul but i tend to stay towards the plain basic looking tables for best value to sound. spiral groove,dr fiekert, merrill, vpi.
i think you and a spiral groove with a triplanar and a benz lp-s would make beautiful music together for life.lol. if i had a higher budget thats what i would be spinning.
