Record cleaning machines

I watched that video after my posting and made me cringe, I had sent a email to the manufacture asking specific questions but have yet to date receive a reply back.

They were pretty simple ones, see below

I'm interested in your record cleaner but have some concerns in how your unit works so my prized possessions don't get damaged - many are non replaceable - some very expensive.

1. On numerous occasions when I have purchased new vinyl upon opening have found actual record particles within the sleeve and on the actual record, will likely be some in the grooves also, same record material. How does your machine deal with this? Without damaging my precious record

2. Any dirt or particles on the surface or in the groves how does your machine deal with this without damaging my precious record

3. Is the same water used again and again to clean my next record? or does the water go back through some type of filtration process so uncontaminated water is then used on my next record?

Look forward to your response

1) problem solved for you, because the machine does not have rollers and when it start to run it goes out to the water.
2) like magic, disappears , really , really
3)this one is tricky because I don't see any filter but I think Klaudio manufacturer responded that question before in another forum.

Did you read my review and how they tested the machine?

Next, the dirt that is removed is completely "pulverized" so to speak. No there's no filtering but I've never seen any crap in the water and all you do is change the water after a 100 or so LPs depending on whether you're cleaning new, used or a combo of the two. Water costs $2.

Hi Myles,

no, can you provide a link.

To be pulverized wouldn't that mean there would be contact similar to a sand blast effect? What about small pces of say vinyl material specifically when you have purchased new

Does the water stay in once you install that first record

Thanks for that reply but still scratching my head, #3 really is the fundamentals and what is actually cleaning, fresh water or contaminated water

My Loricraft does a wonderful job, it's just the time involved

We did a group buy in April. I haven't heard of anyone else having issues. Could have been old stock.

FYI, I was part of Mike's group purchase, and my machine has stopped drying the records thoroughly so I'll be returning it for warranty service. Luckily it has a two year warranty. Unluckily I don't have another cleaner to use while it's gone.

The Audio Desk worked great for the first 100-150 LPs, then a few would have drops of water, then more started coming out still a little wet, now they all come out with some water on them. It's a pain, but I'm sure it can be repaired. And the people at the Cable Company always seem helpful, so I'm optimistic about the eventual result. I will report back on results.

Wow Jon. Well, I stand corrected. Obviously they still have issues. Glad the cable co. is looking after you though. But it is a PITA to send it back.

Yes Nelson is correct. Tim from Klaudio answered Dev's questions in. Thread on WBF.

I just sent the Cable Co, well Ultra Systems really, an email describing the problem. Hopefully it's as easy as getting an RA, boxing it up and handing it to UPS, but we'll see. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I have to say that the machine does work very well, particularly for older records that need a good cleaning.

Hi Myles, I don't recall ever asking publicly only via email to company - please post a copy which you refer to from WBF along with Tim's response. Thx

I would love to speed up the process of cleaning - I have approx. 500 waiting ;)

Hi Myles, thanks for that but no where am I referred to nor did I post - on any forums always posted as dev.

I will read though :)

Sorry, there was a misunderstanding there. :) I just meant that Tim had already answered a similar (yours in the general sense) question on WBF.

Hi Myles,

no problem and thanks for clarification. I look forward to you contributing- you can provide lots of great info :)

So far the KLAUDIO surpass my expectations . I cleaned around 100 Lps and I'm very happy with the results and how much time save me from do the hard job

I own both and prefer the KL. My AD is going back to Germany for ultrasonic transducer repair. I think I may sell it when it returns by the end of February I would imagine. It will still have 5 mos. of transferable warranty.
