Do you guys order your Lampis from dealers? Or do you buy direct? Is there a wait to get a Big 7 with all the interest?
Possible. The second system the esoteric was with a krell evo 202, which we took out when we put in the Lampi. But it had a clock.

No Ken, you must run balanced to your 501's as Cyril believes the benefits of noise rejection on amp cable runs warrants a phase splitter at the end of the preamp (hence the 501's only have balanced inputs). My point is that the preamp from input to the phase splitter at the output runs dual-mono, unbalanced because as the quote in my prior post indicated Cyril considers unbalanced superior in his preamps.
So theoretically if you have an unbalanced source you would stay unbalanced through the pre-amp to get the best of Cyril's magic. Don't let the lesser gain from unbalanced fool you. (I have seen this mistaken for performance; it ain't.)
Thanks Paul for that explanation. So I guess this means you'll be going with the unbalanced Lampi GG if you decide to purchase one because, in theory, it should sound better with your Soulution 720 / 501 combo.

Dual mono, unbalanced GG if I do digital after analog in this system.
Of the two dacs inown that do both SE and bal I cannot hear an improvement. But my msb has setting of you use SE to improve the sound . I think SE is fine and it's more about synergy and good doing then format in this. Lastly what I cannot understand is hiw having double the electronics in a truly balanced system make it better. I know how the bal cables can improve but this is over longer distance and is why it eas developed many years ago. Today the balance we use is not the same concept or am I wrong somewhere in this ?
