JOB 225 2-channel Power Amplifier ... update ...

Another happy Job 225 user here..... Ordered mine + sweetcord on a Friday, delivered on following Thursday. Hooked to Proac Tablette Anniversary speakers and sounds incredible (regardless of cost). No hum, no buzz, very transparent and great imaging. One happy customer. Better and better as it breaks in. Another vote for the amp being the real deal.

Bob,

Be nice. Sometimes words don't translate well without facial expressions or tone of voice :)

Oh but I was nice; humorous. :)

But you're right too; I am French and in English my love doesn't always show (translate) the way I meant to.
And so some people they totally got the wrong impression of me, to the point of getting me banned!

The first time ever I was banned from one Internet's site is because of my French accent! ...And my several typos and misspellings! I remember it just like it was yesterday.

Too many people in this world lack compassion, comprehension, patience, communication skills, good humor, and all that jazz.
So far the AudioShark is above all that stuff.

I keep learning every day, thanks Joe. :)

I do believe you have found yourself a sweet little combo!

I really love reading the posts from those who understand how great the Job sounds in the right system. You don't need to spend a whole lot to get awesome music.

I am glad that JOB is committed to this. They seem genuinely gratified that people like this offering and are happy to oblige when they have production capacity! Big plus 2 after Mike.

It really is a great combo (Job + Proac). I purchased the Proacs used for a great price (<$800) and the Job amp drives them really well. A lot of layering and just the right combo of "velvety smooth" yet defined/quick if you know what I mean. The Proacs sound great with tubes and I am really surprised how well this solid state amp drives them. I am really looking forward to seeing what the preamp will be like(wonder if they will do a passive pre with the high gain of the amp). As you have said, there are ways to get great sound without spending an arm and a leg. Sometimes listening to a smaller system can be more fun than a larger system. It is a lot of fun to see what you can put together for the least amount of money, rather than having the latest and the greatest component featured in a magazine (and at a high price). And when you get this much satisfaction from well priced/performing equipment, you do not feel like you have made a mistake in buying the piece.

You have said a mouthful Joe. Everyone here should hear the Job driving the $89 pair Pioneer SP 22LR speakers. That will leave you speechless.

The Pioneer speakers are a fantastic value if you ask me. Andrew Jones is a brilliant designer and definitely gets the fun from having a system that is bargain priced. He is one of the very best speaker designers of our times. His designs do not happen by chance. Every aspect of design, finish, shipping, etc. is factored into his design process.

The previous version of those speakers was my first Job hookup. I was blown away!

+1

I bought mine on sale for $89 at Tiger Direct. Frys has them once in awhile for $79 pr.

I've got the 41's and they did well with the JOB. I did find them to be a little rolled off on the top end though, but that is me. I was using them on both 24" and 26" stands and even tried tilting them up slightly. I think it is just the nature of the design choice.

Quick question..... is it Job like "get a job" or "wisdom of Job" (i.e. from the bible)? Is 225 of significance? Just wondering where the name came from. Anybody know????
