JOB 225 2-channel Power Amplifier ... update ...

for the last 30 years, I have had a history of not buying common components. There has had to be a uniqueness to it. My gut tells me that between my magic wire and the unusual amp that is being delivered Wednesday, I am in for a pleasant surprise.

You are totally correct. If I had to keep only one amp, I think it would be the Job 225. It's that good!

I did want to say that I did not get off to a good start on the best forums, I screwed up, and not knowing what to do, I yelled up for another shovel so I could dig the hole a bit deeper. I was not Bandor over there, I was the wire guy, so I apologize in advance and I shall not duplicate what happened there , over here. I was not alone but that's all I'm going to say about that,

Joe...as I promised I read through the entire thread :D I should have finished at midnight but there was an hour and a half distraction I had to deal with. In any case, very impressive guys. Love the enthusiasm and clearly this is a great little amp punching way above its weight!

Thanks Cyril,

It was one of those OMG! moments when I first hooked up this little baby. A friend of mine in PA ended up getting Burmester on my recommendation. When he had some issues that should have been taken care of I recommended Dartzeel and we were much happier. He needed to downsize his system recently so I sent him my first Job225. He called me not 20 minutes after the amp warmed up and said that I was not getting the amp back. Finally he felt he did not have to settle to get great music. Needless to say he's very happy now and the funds from selling some expensive gear was put to good use.

Bandor, I like innovative, off-beat products too... design with an edge! So, I get you.

Entertaining read, no?

I hit the magical window and received my job amp today and by the time I set it up, all I could say was where did the day go. I did get to listen to one track, on Aaron Neville cd and I was listening casually until this base riff came outof nowhere and shocked the hell out of me. It had slam, base guitar, nuance and although I've heard this track a lot, my only thought was where in the heck did that come from. I did notice spectacular base control, and I am really really excited to too how this thing evolves. It was suggested I wait 50 plus hours before I listened, I couldn't wait, I cheated and was really surprised at what I heard, holy cow. It gave me a glimpse into the future and holy cow, just what do I have in store for me???????

Welcome to the club my friend. The Job is absolutely amazing! I am glad you are enjoying it right out of the box. Sure it will get a little better but just enjoy the ride. I will NEVER get rid of my Jobs.

Like Joe said, it only gets better with age. To me the big changes happened early. Then it was subtle after that.

+1

Same here. By 100 hours I think it's done. It's one of, if not the, best low to mid volume amps I've ever heard and owned.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Joe, thanks for the support, I've listened to amazing things on my system in the past but this just seem to have more bottom end control, more refined and dynamic at the same time, it seems to be full of weird contradictions, it is going to be fun to find what it really has to offer. It's almost like it's a small box of magic. When I heard that little bass guitar riff filled with the subtle nuance of the guy playing it, it seems to be asking a lot of questions that it is prepared to answer, or more will be revealed later.

You are so very welcome!

I am just so glad that you, among others, are validating what I am hearing with this amazing jewel of an amp. I would never steer someone wrong and tell them something that I did not truly believe in. My Job gets the most playtime of all my gear.

I spent some time listening to a Goldmund 280 at Rhapsody Music and Cinema in NY and was in awe. It's definitely better, but the prices start at $15K+.
