Help! I can not stop listening ....

have you place the covers on both amps yet? wonder if that helps shield a bit from the heat...

It does not seem to make much difference with covers on or off. Sure there is some heat, but it's not terrible. Don't forget there's 20 tubes in the amps and 2 in the GAT. The heat is something I'll gladly put up with for the wonderful music that comes out.

Oh just wait until you start tube rolling.:woot:

Who else makes KT120's?

What other tubes do you recommend?

Shuguang KT120 tube?replacing KT88)
Again I'm not a big fan of the KT120. I prefer the Ei KT90 type2 for a somewhat reasonable priced vintage output tube. Not quite the power but pretty close. My overall favorite is the original Tung Sol 6550 solid black plate. That being said in my IA changing the input and or the driver/inverter can make as big of a difference as the output tubes

Thanks George!

Those look pretty cool. I'll experiment when it's time to change the first set. I expect 6 month tube changes on the ART monos with the way I use my stereo. CJ wants $1800 ($900 per amp) for a full replacement set of tubes.

Try the little tubes first. Much less expensive than the full set of output tubes. But I have no experience with the tubes in the CJ. Like someone told me just try them. I have 10 different inputs with 9 sets of driver/inverter tubes let alone 10 sets of output quads. At 59 I hope to live long enough to hear all the combo's.:panic: LMAO!!

Too funny George. And I thought I had problems. I feel better now :)

We are not alone ;)
