Get together at Bob's Rhapsody

A big shout out to Myles and his system. If you ever get the chance - he really has some magic going on there.

Thanks for letting me listen for a long time. Even tho you cost me money since I have to get that turntable. :)

The tapes are incredible. Simply the best source in audio. Yup it's expensive. Yup there is limited material available. But wholly cow does it give you goose bumps. Well done Myles.

Thanks Jock. What was cool is that we introduced the equipment and that was the last time we talked about the equipment. Just lots and lots of music. That says worlds when the equipment disappears and music appears! Though Bob V. set the record listening to five straight hours (OK with a potty break) of music. Hope Bob gets his Alexias set up real soon!!!!!

I'm on my way to the airport,
sad that I'm leaving but happy that I meet new friends and consolidate my old ones.
Thank you Mike for this wonderful instrument to meet good super nice people

See you all soon, maybe at RMAF?

:)

Nelson,

It was so wonderful seeing you again. You are a prince among men. Be safe, until next time.

Bob,

Thank you so much for your gracious and generous hospitality. I had a blast! I seriously enjoyed meeting everyone on Friday. Its rare that I meet a group of people who I can honestly say I'd look forward to 'hanging' with any or all of them in the future.
It was also an opportunity to hear systems that were clearly better than my own in many ways. Its a humbling experience.
To be honest, my intent in attending was partly to scope out competing cables. But the company and music (and wine!) was so good, I forgot to ask, and really didn't care.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the Saturday get together...

Many thanks to Bob and all who attended,
Paul

Bob, thank you so much for a great weekend! As Myles said, I can't imagine any other dealer doing something like this! And it was a blast! Too bad I didn't make it out for Day 2!:( But I'm sure there will be more.:P

Myles, the Kagura and S3s were my favorites as well. :audiophile:

hey allen sorry i didnt get to see you and say hi. me and bob were listening to the kaguras and the d3's on a normal volume level, maybe medium high, just 2 of us in the room and a nice acoustic, well recorded record on, and the sound was some of the best ive ever experienced. i thought the s3's real good but does not suck you into the music like the d3's. of course being so inefficient the d3's dont want to be pushed too hard by amps in the 50w or anything less range.
the s3's being more efficient could run with those kaguras forever and be very happy doing so. either way what a great bunch of gear bob has going on .

Hey Steve,

Yeah, sorry we missed each other! Would've been great to catch up! But I'm glad you were able to hang for some time before work kicked in.

The D3s definitely have improved, a lot! I really enjoyed what I heard with the Goldmunds driving them. S3s, D3s, kagura, or Goldmund, it's great to hear them all at Bob's!

Again.....:heart::heart: to all. It's so lonely here now...what a blast it was!!!

Yes and will depend upon the music being listened to. :)

i couldnt agree more. the s3's seemed like they could handle anything you could throw at them. although i thought the bass on the d3 was better, more accurate and deeper but me loving the sound of the d3 would not ever mean they were the speaker for me. cause they are not. the way my life has turned is if 300b's cant drive them i dont want them. lol.
but all in all was impressed with most all i heard. wish i could have experienced your tapes miles!!!
and you should do a review of that rogers phonostage, id be curious of your opinion

Thanks for the suggestion! Will take it under advisement. Have a tonload of stuff/reviews
to clear out here first. :(

Myles, you better start factoring in "Honey do's" after the upcoming wedding when scheduling anything in the future!

There were two guys outside my door claiming that they were FBI agents - the lead guy said his name was "Friday". Supposedly it's been brought to their attention that obscene gestures were made this past weekend on these premises and have surfaced on a You Tube video. They wanted to search the place, to see if the "culprit" as they referred to him was on the premises. I told them they could not come in without a search warrant. They then said that they have all the facts that they need and told me not to leave the country. :roflmao:
