AMG v12 TURNTABLES

I've done it on mine 3 times now & every time has been a cinch.

Design flaws - putting the belt on. Leveling the table.

Really,

Leveling is so easy, in fact I think its way better than most in that regard.

The belt, well the design makes it next to impossible but the wooden tool supplied fixes that, not easy but not too difficult either.

And another thing....it is a design flaw on how to connect the tone arm cable - through the little opening in the back and up into a space I can't see and can't get to unless I lift the table up or remove the armboard. Again like the leveling openings I don't mind taking the platter off to access and move around but getting the belt on is not easy even with the wooden tool. I am not saying it is impossible - just a pain. Not user friendly and didn't have to be be designed that way. Now waiting for the onslaught of comments on why I am wrong ... [emoji16]

From my experience, I find the belt and levelling are straightforward. Belt location / design is unconventional but I don't mind this and have had no problems in the few times I've needed to do this.
I do agree with your point about the difficult access to the tonearm cable opening for connection. It is a pain as the table is heavy. The good news for anyone using or considering the twin armband is that the second arm is very easy to access with lots of direct access space immediately below the connection.

Is anyone using the reference tonearm cable? Mine just has the basic, so I'm wondering what I'm missing. Using and Etna and Teatro.

I've never had an issue getting the belt in place with the tool provided. 3 for 3.

My comments are nitpicking because everything else about using it especially on a daily basis is awesome and easy.

i'm using a Siltech cable, absolutely stunning!

Kev, I'll look in to these. Did you use the Siltech from day one or the start with the AMG. I have only the $300 basic cable the AMG came with.

Bill, the dealer I buy my gear through advised me to go straight to the Siltech, as, in his opinion, it is the best. I got the Anniversary G7.

My AMG V12 was delivered today by dealer/Shark Mark Jones. I'm just getting started listening and it is such an incredible upgrade that I am just stunned. I'm using the AMG reference tone-arm cable and the AMG Teatro cartridge. Below is a photo of the V12 sitting on my Rix Rax audio rack with the Diapasons in the background. I'm full of joy!

What a beauty! Congrats!

Congrats on the new AMG!
Super table that is a joy to use.
Enjoy it for many years.

Congrats on the new V12. I do remember the feeling well when I got mine.

Congrats BBroker, It looks fantastic

I want to upgrade the phono cable on my table to the AMG Reference like yours, the Siltech that Kev mentioned, or I just found out that Shindo will make one for me at a very reasonable price. The basic AMG cable sounds great, but that particular cable is bound to be the most important in the entire chain. Decisions decisions...

I previously added a Shunyata Alpha Analog to the power supply with great results.
