About to pull the trigger on Tannoy

Hey Paul, what kind of spell did you put on Mike ??

He's lost his mind over Tannoy :panic:

Didn't do nothing. I guess he has a good hearing and taste ;)

Truly speaking ..They are really musical speakers with effortless dynamic and usually they don't go together.

I guess Mike just realized that.

So Mike... can you give a little compare & contrast to your Alexias? (Granted, front end vastly different.)

I have no idea really. The Alexia's image better (but Mark said that was his room) and the Raidho's do a lot of things better - like a 3D soundstage you can walk into and speed and more.

But the Tannoy's are efficient, open up options for low powered SET tube amps and they play big oozing musicality.

Again we are talking about the Audiophile speakers VS Musical speakers ;) they all have pros and cons it's just matter of what you like.

This is the truth right here. Do you enjoy a system that allows you to hear each instrument as it was intended? Do you want accuracy and precision? Do you want pace rhythm and timing (I hate that expression) or are you willing to give some of that up for a sound that draws you into and gets your whole body moving to the music? I'll take musicality any day thank you. Of course I'm biased, if you didn't already know.

PRAT, god help us, me too. LOL, love it. Thanks Doug, well said.

As a self confessed Reynaud and Vandersteen fan, I am with Mark and Doug. While accuracy might draw your attention initially it won't keep it for long. Musicality and the ability to "draw you into the music" always wins for me. I have bought and sold at a loss many a speaker that sounded great initially and then got on my nerves later. If the Tannoys do that then all is good and Paul is satisfied.

It's in the center of the woofer.

That's a good idea. I would suspect with all frequencies coming from the same point in space that the sound would be more cohesive and realistic versus coming from multiple speakers that can be a few feet apart on towers.

One thing to mention was just how good Mark's SME 20/12 table was. He has one amazing vinyl rig. Paul needs one now - and a Lumin!

Maybe I need a Lumin too, sounds like a great product.

Just a note on the table. My demo was ordered with the V12 not the the normal 312S that is usually paired with the 20/12.

Oh and thanks, Mike.

Jack, I'm still surprise every day how good sounding these speakers is. I am a happy camper. Loved the sound and how it draw me into the music and also I love the classic looking as well.

The Westminster's are not going anywhere. Also again without Mark Jones this wasn't possible from any other dealer. Period.
