Psvane HiFi 300B (pair) | Psvane & Shuguang Treasure Audio Tubes, Caps and Amps

Yesterday afternoon I put in a quad of the HiFi 300B tubes. Sounds more sweet with a softer bottom. They still need to break in. Initial rectifier is the WE 422a but I need to try the stock tube and my reissue GZ34 to balance out the sound. Having the Lampi is like having an unlimited number of amps, you can really shape the sound to what you like. Amazing.

These 300B's are not expensive considering what's out there. I'm happy.

Thanks for sharing, Joe. Any idea how these Psvane Hifis are supposed to compare to the Black Treasures?

I don't, but will try them in the near future. A friend prefers these to a lot of other high end 300's in his tube amps.

Thanks, Mike. "Not bad" was not quite what I am after so will give a miss.

I know, but Bill, you have to keep in mind, I'm comparing all my 300b's to my Western Electric's. If the WE300'b are an A+, I would say the Elrog's are definitely an A. By all accounts, so are the Takasuki's.

The Gold Lions are a solid C. But again, look at the price difference!

Mike,

The Psvane WE 300B Replicas look like a nice set of new tubes at a reasonable price. How would you grade them?

Best,
Ken

Aha. Fair enough Mike - did not realise you had the western electric holy grails :congrats:

Maybe I will look at something that scores a B by your definition. Perhaps the treasure series psvane with the grey colour...

I had forgotten about those. I am sure they will be wonderful. I'll see what a new quad costs.

Hi Joe,

They were pretty good value for matched quad over here in UK especially compared to other crazy exotic stuff. I am tempted to give them a go and max out with a nos recti.

300B roundup

Ignoring the expensive ones...

Anyone with experience with the Shuguang Black Treasure, The Full Music Carbon-C, Kron 300B and the basic Shuguang, the Sophia Mesh, Svetlana and Electro Harmonix?

Norman, this is an excellent topic. I get asked this question all the time: "what is a good 300b tube that doesn't cost more than the DAC!" We all know the Elrog's, Sophia's and Takasuki's are tops for modern 300b's, but what is a more reasonably priced tube that still delivers excellent performance.

I'm really curious about the Shuguang Western Electric 300b Replica's.

I had Psvane WE300B. It doesn't very good compared to 101D replica. I sold them recently. I think one can add EML 300B mesh to try list. I have a quad set coming.
