Same show, same venue: Avalon Ascents driven by Tube Research Labs GT-800 monsters with Goldmund Reference (didn't observe which cartridge), Vendetta Research phono stage, and First Sound passive. Felt the heat 15 feet away. An epiphany.
My wish list to hear would include John Iverson's one-of-a-kind full range speakers that sound loud even if you covered your ears as tightly as possible. No idea what the technology was, something that would make plasma look amateurAnd Iverson's glow-in-the-dark amplifiers. I strongly suspect everything was confiscated. Iverson could have been considered the modern day Nicola Tesla of high end audio. Truly a madman, an inspired genius.

Not likely. There was an article in TAS about him and his disappearance, which actually is a pretty good account. A friend worked for Iverson in LA back in the day and told of seeing amps glowing in the dark (I'm not talking about tubes) when he slept in the shop. But he wasn't around in the later days, so he isn't aware of what happened. It's a damn shame they never found out what happened to John Iverson. Maybe he is hanging out with Jimmy Hoffa.
