What are you watching?

Really loved the original Robocop. Which reminds me of Almost Human (2013-), a TV series I watched recently and really liked.

Really loved the original Robocop.

The latest version on Blu-ray has been remastered (4K) and it is the very best! ... Remastered | Director's Cut
...Better than my other previous Blu-ray versions, and Criterion DVD, of course. ... {I think I got five versions now, without counting couple VHS ones.}
And it's only five to ten bucks, for the latest 4K one (below). ... {I don't care at all for Robocop 2 and 3.}

It's a comedy Barry. :) ...A sarcastic sci-fi/comedy/parody/satire. ... Paul Verhoeven ('Flesh & Blood', 'Robocop', 'Total Recall', 'Basic Instinct', 'Showgirls', 'Starship Troopers', 'Hollow Man', 'Black Book') is a special character! ...He loves sex and violence, and polished everything (imagery wise) for his viewers, and personal satisfaction according to his own beliefs on the world surrounding him and abroad.

Last night it was "Joe" starring Nicolas Cage, more boring than a Matt Damon movie. This flick was dark, violent, hard to follow the storyline at times and just plain awful. I can't see whay anyone would write crap like this, let alone make it into a movie. Cage is so boring it is tiring. He has One Act, no emotion. The rest of the cast were all nobodies I never heard of, so I guess they were cheap, like the lighting in this film. So many scenes were so dark it was silly, including a scene wher Cage removes pellets from a shotgun blast to the shoulder by himself and in the dark.

Don't wast an hour and 45 minutes, you can never get it back. I can compare it to another lousy flick from last year called "Mud" and just realized that the kid in Joe, Tye Kayle Sheridan, was also in Mud. Poor kid needs some better roles and is a half decent young actor.

I just turned on Goldfinger last night and I still love that picture! He's still funny, the villains are still bad and, in the end, it still doesn't really make sense, but it is so much fun to watch.

Maybe it's a new trend on our screens?
...To compensate for all the super heroes from cartoons, and all that CGI pizzazz from Hollywood blockbusters, a la Godzilla.

I'm a big Nicolas Cage's fan. ...He's over-the-top in most of his acting jobs. ...But that's Nicl, who he is; an extroverted persona.
...Almost to the point of being funny without trying to be too serious in a demented kind of way. ;)

This flick is going to be released next week, on Blu. ...I've read some about it, and more here from you Brian. I think that I'm going to get it anyway (the Blu). ...I'll see for myself if I can handle him once more. :D ...I am my own best judge when it comes to living my own life; watching movies, listening to music, and all the rest that is contained in my nearest and farthest surroundings, including the various places and people and all that jazz.
I live in North America and the news are from all over.

* 'Mud' was a different flick; with some genuine performances by the two young kids. ...I liked it.

In the 60s that picture just above was all the rage in a Bond flick. :D

What a dynasty! Double 007 ...And it just keeps going, for more than fifty years (half century +).
We'll be all dead but James Bond'll still be around.

'Goldfinger' was (still) one of the better/funnier ones. ...I agree.

So what does this have to do with comic books?

I am NOT a Nick Cage fan. I thought he was terrible when I first saw his movies, Peggy Sue and Raising Arizona . He didn’t become the role, he wanted the role to become him.

Conair was the movie that I realized I’d never like him and I do try to avoid his pictures. I know he tried to be Superman, but has appeared in at least three comic book movies. He can’t stop being over the top. I guess he was Okay in Matchstick men.

But his real name is Nick Coppolla, a relative of Francis Ford. He named himself after a comic book by Marvel entitles Luke Cage.

Last night I rewatched: very guilty pleasure ...

AudioShark is a very bad influence; this is where I got the inspiration for revisiting this sinful flick (last night) ::
{Remember earlier (couple days ago or so) we were talking about Paul Verhoeven ...}

* I think I (I'm the one who) started it; with 'Robocop'. ...I'm bad, I'm real bad! :D

Funny pictures of him Barry. :D ...Nicolas is a true super hero; 'Ghost Rider' trilogy. ..Italian too.

Nick Cages best movies are the Ghost Riders, if that is saying anything.

You got that right Brian!

1. 'Ghost Rider'
2. 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' ... 3D
3. ...

* Did you see the flicks 'Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans' and 'Gone in 60 Seconds' ?

-> You have to see 'Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans', also starring Eva Mendes, and directed by Werner Herzog.
...Music (awesome) by Mark Isham.
That flick is a total character riot, and Cage's is at the very top of his game! ...And I truly mean that.

The Ghost Rider movies were awful.

By thew way, here is what the editor says about it's creation: “I had made up a character as a villain in Daredevil — a very lackluster character — called Stunt-Master...a motorcyclist. Anyway, when Gary Friedrich started writing Daredevil, he said, “Instead of Stunt-Master, I’d like to make the villain a really weird motorcycle-riding character called Ghost Rider.” He didn’t describe him. I said, “Yeah, Gary, there’s only one thing wrong with it,” and he kind of looked at me weird, because we were old friends from Missouri, and I said, “That’s too good an idea to be just a villain in Daredevil. He should start out right away in his own book.” When Gary wasn’t there the day we were going to design it, Mike Ploog, who was going to be the artist, and I designed the character. I had this idea for the skull-head, something like Elvis’ 1968 Special jumpsuit, and so forth, and Ploog put the fire on the head, just because he thought it looked nice. Gary liked it, so they went off and did it in back office for three hours.”

Let me see here; how many Ghost Rider Blu-ray movies do I have in my cinema collection: Two! :D
* The second one (3D) was only ten bucks, but it is a very bad flick; that I totally agree.
The first one (2D) is better, but still a bad flick nonetheless.

No, if you want Nicolas Cage on Blu-ray, just get 'Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans'.
...That's it man, that's truly the one! ...It's good, very good.

I want a money back guarantee!! How about for Showgirls too. That is only six bucks. :)

I paid twice (inflated Canadian prices), but I might have twice as much fun (guilty fun) as the next girl sitting close to me. ;)

* I used to hang out in strip joints; pole dancing. :) ...Not me; I was playing pool (eight-ball tournaments), and darts (tournaments). Plus the food was very affordable and good (chicken wings).
