Hey, fellow sharks, I don't see a forum topic for announcements of upcoming concerts...

For those near Rochester NY, one of my favorite male singers, Curtis Stigers, will be performing with the Rochester Philharmonic this weekend. Tour Dates | Curtis Stigers. If you don't know this artist, I think most Sharks would love to hear him live, as well as on their systems at home. Curtis travels and plays frequently in Europe, so those Sharks swimming on the far side of the pond can hear him live too!

Also, Steely Dan has announced a summer tour, the Jamalot Ever After tour. Official Steely Dan | Tour Dates 2014 | Jamalot Ever After

Bob, great idea! I was going to start a 'Recent Concerts' thread to post snaps/vidz of concerts you've recently attended as I think there are a fair number of concert goers here. Maybe after my next concert.

A great app to get for your phone is BandsInTown. It will scan your music library and email you local concerts you may be interested in given the artists in your music library. I got tickets to some great concerts that way. They cover everyone from Abba to ZZ Top. Paris Hilton even!:P

Thx for the tip on Steely Dan. Would love to go to that concert, but d@mn those tickets are expensive!

Sarah Mclachlan and Natalie Merchant are kicking off new album tours if anyone is interested.

Each summer we try to see a few shows from the Bravo Vail series too...

Bravo! Vail

The Vail Bravo concert series is really quite special as various orchestra's and soloists take up residence in the valley from late June to early August each year. And, the Ford Amphitheater is a spectacular visual and sonic experience to boot.

Sir Elton John, Dec 31st, Barclay's Center, Brooklyn, NY!

Nelson, how was his concert? My wife and I weren't big fans of his latest album, but would love to see him if he played a lot of his older material.

Out of that list, I wouldn't mind maybe seeing Sarah (sold out though) and maybe the Moodys if they don't do anything beyond Long Distance Voyager, but my concert days are long over.

Yeah Baby... Tomorrow night is the Steely Dan show in Portland. I've been eagerly waiting for this show.

And hopefully tomorrow will be a little cooler here in Portland, current temp outside is 99 F.

WOW! That was a fun night... Steely Dan's greatest hits performed live with Fagen & Becker. 13 member band (3 backing vocalists) with 4 horns, 2 guitars (Becker), bass guitar, drums, 2 keyboards (Fagen). Opening night of their summer tour. I don't have full playlist, I'm sure one will be listed online, somewhere, soon. I didn't know if they'd just play all the old faves, but they did and it was terrific. That, my fellow sharks, is some good 'ol Rock&Roll. (We don't need no stinkin Rap!) Last song of the set was 'Reelin in the Years' (before encore) which I played repeatedly on my car cassette in my high-school days - it was so much fun to hear that song live! We were about 15 rows back, just left of center. Great view, awesome sound.

Don't miss this show if they're near your town, it'll make you feel young!

Bob...saw them in Boston last year. My girlfriend, who absolutely hates Steely Dan, got us tickets to go for my birthday and she actually sat through the concert. I had a ball. Fagen may not be on key as much but they sure can still rock it out. It was a fun concert. On our night they did the whole AJA album and some of their other top hits!

I have seen Steely Dan twice in the last few years and they put on a great show. They have an outstanding band and good backup singers. The only thing I found a little shocking when I went to the first concert was a reminder of how old I'm getting. I'm 58 and soon to be 59 and I have been listening to Steely Dan since I was 17. Sometimes I forget that I'm getting older too. I saw more canes and walkers at that concert than I have seen visiting nursing homes. There were no hot chicks throwing their thongs on stage. I might have seen a few Depends getting thrown.

Regardless, if you like Steely Dan I highly recommend seeing them live if you get a chance. Their show is outstanding.
