Thank you. I've found a combo that satisfies to no end. The sun was coming up again when I went to bed. I'm going to need a lock out timer so I can get some sleep.
TAD CR-1's plus Conrad Johnson GAT and ART monos = Nirvana !!!

Wow, how cool, Joe. Detail and precision from the TADs and liquidity from the CJ tubes. Sounds pretty awesome to me. I am glad you found the right amplifiers to push the TADs into that 6th gear. Sounds like you are sitting pretty. Very happy for you, my friend.

So happy you found the right combo to drive those fussy TAD's. I bet it sounds fantastic. The rate you're going those tubes will need to be changed every other month!

I'm pretty sure the tubes are made at the Reflektor plant in Russia. Maybe you can start swapping gear with Putin and he can set you up!

The D3's are tricky I am finding out. I think that they are pretty much for really big rooms. My room is 35' X 18' X 11 ceilings and I would not recommend the D3's in any smaller room than this. The D3's just have so much bass output that the room has to be able to deal with it. I actually would predict that the CJ's as great as they are and I know that they are great tube amps, would produce too much power in the bass region....just my hunch at the moment.

The more I think about it the more I think you are correct. The CJ gear is pretty ballsy for tube gear. I'd consider D2s for the bedroom or D3 for downstairs when the time is right. I'll need to hear some gear combo

Why did it take me soooooo long to realize what I knew deep down? Stick a fork in me. My CJ GAT/ART mono combo complements the TAD CR-1's so well that it's truly amazing. Any treble issues that I've complained about are GONE! The TADs truly disappear. Damn, if I had the room, the Reference Ones would be on the menu. Deep, layered and wide CJ sound stage coupled with precise vocals and instrument placement is incredible. I am a very tired and happy man.
Finally the CR1's have found their amplification:exciting:

....very funny.Joe, I think you will be surprised once you hear the C1.1 or the D1. Unless I had a gigantic room I think that the Raidho monitors are really special. Although the D2 is possible...but I don't think D3.
