I would be stunned if the upgrade was that expensive. They told me they are aiming for the price difference between Everest 8000 and Everest-X.

Here is a post by Scott of Shunyata Research on another audio forum regarding upgrades of Everest to Everest-X specification.

"Yes, there will be an upgrade service available. While all the details and timing are yet to be confirmed, I can say that the cost to upgrade will roughly cost the difference between the MSRP cost of Everest 8000 and Everest-X.

This upgrade path will likely be made available later this year when production capacity allows."
