Pre-amp/DAC for JOB 225

Just got confirmation from Job that it will NOT EQ any signals going through the Pre2 and it will also not lose any bits at lower volume..

Was that a concern about the PRE2? I wasn't aware that it was ever intended to have any EQ functionality or that it employed a digital volume control.
 
First end user production units of Pre2 have been released to shipper .. ! :celebrate008_2:
 
I received a DHL tracking number for the Job Pre2 this morning. I'll post photos if I receive the preamplifier before anybody else does.
 
So through some research I have found out analog preamp with analog volume control (which the Pre2 is)is offered with the most expensive preamps out there from Meitner,dCs etc.. It sure looks like another best bang for the buck from JOB. Just had a question as to what are the advantages of analog volume control that is potetionmeter less?

Thank joe, I have one thing to say If you have a Job 225, the Pre2 will be his best friend. One little regret , the face plate it's a little darker than the Job 225.

This is an interesting thread, but I was hoping for more 'I own a 225 amp and I am using 'X' preamp with it...' sort of comments.

So if you own a 225 amp what are you using?

I was thinking of a CJ Classic 2 SE, but have concerns about gain and tube noise.

Is anyone using just a Axiom II Passive Preamp?


 
The pre2 out of the box, with his power cable (not the sweetchord) : Immediately, the pre2 give precision, résolution and silence. In the large orchestral ensembles, for example, the pre2 presented individual violins playing together with resolution and micro dynamics . His ability of staging and imaging is fantastic. It's feel neutral and fast. I'll wait for it to be broken to say more and especially with a real power cord.
