Pre-amp/DAC for JOB 225

Just got confirmation from JOB the new preamp will be an active preamp.

They are going to need to keep the gain from about 0db to 6db. I've got a tube preamp I used for a while that has a switch for 8db and that was still a little much. Still had some hiss with the volume knob all the way down that I didn't have with the other three amps. Another interesting possibility if not for the price is the Red Wine Isabella.

HOW TO GET A JOB ?

No information about it yet appears anywhere on the JOB website, however. My guess is that it will be very similar, in function and appearance, to the Stellavox PR3 (yes, I know the link says PR2--the Stellavox website is quirky and minimalist, like the JOB website):

I emailed them like everyday and bug the hell outta them the last few weeks lol.

The Job preamp will have a remote btw, confirmed last week.

Are you going to place an order? Being more risk-averse than the average audiophile, I don't know if I can order one of these things without finding out, at a minimum, what the feature set is.

According to Job, "the technical data sheet will be published be published very soon". : )
 
I just tried to order the PRE2 and it's sold out, dammit. So fast? Oh boy.
 
No idea on specs. Could be they are preparing the site for the eventual sale. Very exciting.
 
Just got this Email from JOB.




"Dear Brian,

thank you for your interest in our products. The preamp will not be produced next week so no chance you can get it beginning of next week.

Haha, yeah, a bonehead move.:facepalm: Well, I needed to the cash to help pay for my new gear, so it had to go. :( I pointed the new owner to our 110 page Ode to Job thread.:P Hopefully he will join AS as well. Apparently he's into tubes. I guess there's a few of those around here in these waters.:rolleyes:
 
Allen - resistance to tubes is futile. Once tubes get their hook into you, you're done.....sort of like vinyl! ;)
