I also like the design, can you switch off the green light? Those things I never liked.
The limitation of MF against Pass Labs is still stage depth and width!! I owned, sold and tested it a lot!!
Pass Labs does not make any good integrated, that is a fact. I tested them as well, I didn't like one of them. My personal opinion is that Pass Labs make stunning amps, good pre amps and average integrated amps. For the money ( I saw a price of 8000 pounds) I can create a wider and deeper stage. My focus is based on what can I create for a price. Also the KW amps were poor in depth. The new class A amps were not a big succes of MF. I sold MF till 2009. Also the 1008 series were all poor in depth. Audio is about comparing and using all the properties a tool owns to the max.
You only can use all the properties of a Pass Labs amp when your speaker is capable of all these parts. Most speakers in audioshop use average and poor crossovers. This you can easily hear by the stage. Use poweramps and pre amps which can build a wide and deep stage. When you will compare all kinds of brands and speakers you will find out how big the differences are in stage depth and width.
3 dimensional sound has made it a lot easier for me to compete. Because when you explain first what it is and after this you give a demo people are exited. And you can send them to any shop you like. They come back laughing. And that is why the best and most convincing sound always wins. This is the thing I like most of my job. It is that simple, and that is why you need to keep it as simple and clear for every single person.
3 dimensional sound with a physical individual focus is a lot more involving and exiting to listen compared to most 2 dimensional sound. Or against no depth with a less sharp individual focus. This has nothing to do with a personal taste. It is much more easy. You explain about sound and music. And about 3 D sound. After this you give a demo. Other shops give demos as well. It is not up to me to make a decision. This year I sold 4 complete sets to people who didn't know me. And I didn't know them. The heard a system of a client of mine. They were impressed by the kind of sound. So they phoned me and said; we heard a system and we want this kind of sound. That is how I work. And that is why I say: the best and most convincing sound always will win. Last year I did presentations for Onkyo. And I wanted all freedom. They give it to me. I used my own set. The editor of the biggest audio magazine called Onkyo after the show to say thay my set was the absolute sound and he was very impressed. Mhifi minded people came to me and said the same: We heard many sets, but your set is by far the best. It is very easy and clear to create a sound what people prefer.
I never met people who preferd a more 2 dimensional sound. The same about an intimate stage. This has nothing to do with taste. That is why I always say: I create and sell emotion. So you use all parts to create the highest level of emotion in sound.
Let me summarize this and all future posts....nut job...
I see that you use a RP-1. I sold it and I tested it. The system is not good. Because it limits many parts of the overal sound. Often Lyngdorf have one of the worst sounds. For example the show were people called met he absolute sound. Many people were also talking about the worst sound of the show. This was Lyngdorf. I audioned it myself. There was no depth, voices and instruments were much too big and the overall sound was very flat without any emotion. I was focussing to the people of Lyngdorf and I was convinced that they didn't know how poor their sound was. A few distributers asked me to listen to it, because it was the worst they heard. And yes it was.
You cannot put any amp into the rest of your system and it will work. Because all the properties of the other tools in your set togheter define if it will work. That is why I said: Audio is all about properties.
You are allowed to be happy with your Lyngdorf. Same thing can be said about Pass amps.
