NuVista 800's in the shop

Demoing the 800 now and the guy is going nuts over the NuVista. I didn't share any of my impressions and he said it was different thang thing he has heard and raved about female vocals

I now have the Nuvista 800 that Mark has been listening to. I am running it into my Focal Scalas. This is one beast of an integrated amp. It really combines the slam and bass of a solid state amp with the sweetness in the mids and highs that tubes are famous for. It is comparable to top shelf separates versus integrated. Very easy to listen to and you can crank it up loud and it never flinches. I predict this will be a grand slam for Musical Fidelity and at $13K, it is unbeatable in my opinion.

Thanks Paul. I'm hoping to order one next week. I REALLY want your opinion of Focal Scala V2 vs Dali Epicon 8's. Please do let me know after you hear them.

I'm going over to David's on Friday and we plan to listen to the Epicon 8's with the Nuvista, so I'll let you know.

Mike: It's hard to go wrong with the Nuvista 800. Smooth tubelike sonics combined with solid state punch. Very easy to listen to with any type of music. I really thought the Dali Epicon 8's made beautiful music with the MF. A slightly better match than with the Focal Scalas in my judgment but I have not had them side by side.

You guys better order the Nuvista 800 quickly. MF has a history of changing these "limited" edition models around to something new in quick time.

Is this model made in the UK or Taiwan?

Just that previous NuVista models were limited edition. Is this series going to be different?

We all know Michael has no quarms about using different amplifier types, Class A, ultra high power Class AB, Nu Vista, class A again. the original nu vista pre amp sounded pretty good at the time.

BTW, The NuVista 800 is made in Taiwan - even if MF don't mention it anywhere in their literature?
