M3s arrived about an hour ago. Took about 45 minutes to uncrate and wheel through two rooms into their "resting place".

Regarding wheeling them around. It will make a difference with either S5IIs, S7s or the M3's on how you wheel them around and that will be dictated by "who" is wheeling them around. I wheeled them from the front, the back and the sides with never a feeling of insecurity. The key is to have complete control of the weight at the top of the speaker. You can't "push" them, you dance with them lovingingly.

Now ready to install the MPods:audiophile:

Not too shabby I would say. Well, just kidding, awesome.

Would be great if you could share your impressions once they have settled.

And a huge congrats!

The platform, not the footers. You still need to be able to wheel it into position.

As Howard says, you have to wheel into position and then install the Mpods. What Magico installs at the factory is the triangle bass that the Mpods insert into. Then remove the traveling "pins" that are in each Mpod It took about 20 minutes to install both sets of Mpods. I didn't do the "jack" route:) I would NEVER advise anyone to install the Mpods like I did, but I've done the S5IIs, S7s and now these the same way and never felt "shaky" OR I would not have proceeded.

Now the break in starts....will update in about 2 weeks of break in, 24/7.

Thx all for the congrats.....no biggie, just another dealer with a new pair of demos, but to me it's all about being an audiophile and hearing them even during break in.

Will do:).....I have them playing my "ocean waves" break" in tracks now. I thought you would get yours first, I was surprised my pair got here this quickly, they shipped from CA Friday afternoon.

The S7's feel "front-heavy", probably because the drivers are mounted to the front of the cabinet. With the M series, I believe there's a frame in a frame, and the drivers mount to the front of the inner frame, pushing the weight back a ways. And like many things in life, a couple of inches can make a big difference.

With the Vitus SM102 not even in Class A, running in Class A/B and the first guitar solo that I put on you can immediately tell that they are sonically at another level from the the S1II/S5II/S7s.....and I am in love with all three of these speakers.

We are talking about speakers that were in a truck 2 hours ago and amps that are not warmed up yet, so these comments mean NOTHING, but each note has more body, from a blacker background......MORE resolution, but again I should not even be commenting yet. Will shut up and listen now, will update tmrw after listening tonight. From what I heard though if someone walked in and asked for a demo, I would say - "sure, have a seat":satisfying:

Mike, one thing that Dave just told me from the factory is that once you remove the pins from the Mpods if you are going to move/pivot the speakers you MUST reinsert the pins (very easy to do, just slide them in) prior to moving/pivoting the speakers.

When the pins are removed the speakers are floating on the isolated elements of the foot and should not be pivoted as such.

Thanks.

After the initial two hours of listening, right now listening to Miles Davis/In a Silent Way, I am observing-

- Richer, more full bodied sound than any of the Ss.

-Same soundstage as the Ss -dimensional/3D holographic

-Definitely more resolution than Ss

-Tweeter seems a bit more prominent than Ss, in a very good way....the Tweeters are sublime.

-Midrange is warm/full bodied with gobs of resolution

-In my size room (700 sq. ft) I would never need a larger M model to pressurize the room. They pressurize the room every bit as well as the S7s...maybe more.

It's strange they sound as if they are fully broken in. Will be interesting to hear them in a few weeks.....or even tomorrow.

Oh boy...sounds very "M Project-ish".

Dumbing the M3's down to one word - "RESOLUTION" and everything that goes along with that.

The good part is that even if you flip to the S1IIs you could be totally satisfied with the provided sound, same for the S5II and S7....all great sounding speakers that allow you to get sucked in to the music. Lot's of great speakers out there that's for sure. For me it's the "golden age" of speakers. Munich blew my mind- not that all of the speakers sounded great at Munich (some did, some didn't), BUT you could tell that if you got a whole lot of them into an environment of your liking you could really have some "audio fun".

Anyway the M3's are quite something, right out of the box. Definitely not any issues, in my room anyway, just plug and play is how it went for me. Although I placed the M3's right where the S5IIs were sitting and I had found that location to be ideal for the S5II, it just happened to work for the M3's as well.....it's noticeable that they just sound right and have soul, more "soul" than any Magico that I've experienced.
