Gee, would anyone expect a dealer to report anything other than positive comments about a product they sell?
Dumbing the M3's down to one word - "RESOLUTION" and everything that goes along with that.
The good part is that even if you flip to the S1IIs you could be totally satisfied with the provided sound, same for the S5II and S7....all great sounding speakers that allow you to get sucked in to the music. Lot's of great speakers out there that's for sure. For me it's the "golden age" of speakers. Munich blew my mind- not that all of the speakers sounded great at Munich (some did, some didn't), BUT you could tell that if you got a whole lot of them into an environment of your liking you could really have some "audio fun".
Anyway the M3's are quite something, right out of the box. Definitely not any issues, in my room anyway, just plug and play is how it went for me. Although I placed the M3's right where the S5IIs were sitting and I had found that location to be ideal for the S5II, it just happened to work for the M3's as well.....it's noticeable that they just sound right and have soul, more "soul" than any Magico that I've experienced.

Bob - have you noticed any efficiency gains? The M3's are nicely rated.

I was hoping you would say that! I knew when I looked at the specs of the M3's, we were going to be in for a dynamic, musical treat!
My Vitus and VAC amps will be smiling!

Point well taken, I invite you if ever in NYC to come in for a listen. If they were not special sounding I would just not have said anything. They are special and not just to me....you shall see. Not saying that 100 other top tier speakers aren't just as good in their own right, they are and I love lot's of speakers that I don't represent, - Avantgarde, Rockport, Living Voice, Viva, most good horn systems. I like efficiency. This is more about what Magico has done. Sorry it irk'd you, I find it interesting and thought I would share my experience.
After the initial two hours of listening, right now listening to Miles Davis/In a Silent Way, I am observing-
- Richer, more full bodied sound than any of the Ss.
-Same soundstage as the Ss -dimensional/3D holographic
-Definitely more resolution than Ss
-Tweeter seems a bit more prominent than Ss, in a very good way....the Tweeters are sublime.
-Midrange is warm/full bodied with gobs of resolution
-In my size room (700 sq. ft) I would never need a larger M model to pressurize the room. They pressurize the room every bit as well as the S7s...maybe more.
It's strange they sound as if they are fully broken in. Will be interesting to hear them in a few weeks.....or even tomorrow.

Mike,
I think you're going to see more folks driving the M3 with tube gear like VAC or CAT due to their increased efficiency and the warmth/dimension provided by tubes.
Ken
I envy you Rhapsody, btw. You're the man!
If you met Rob, you would know he is as passionate about all things audio, as we all here are. And I can't say that about many dealers.
Pay him a visit while in NY - he has a great sounding room. The S5 mk 2 sounded as good as he said in his studio, I bet the M3 also do.
Stunning speakers.
Do you think the carbon fibre is what makes gives them a "soul" compard to the aluminium body Magico speakers?
I think Wilson Benesch is right. The future is carbon!
