Kraemer Designs D~400 Hypex NC400 Mono Amp Build

You are aware that it is the 'bottom' cover? ...And with a new front plate design as well.

* And in their original form (silver aluminum: aluminati) they look much better than 'canonized' black.
...In my humble and expert opinion. :)

Maybe for you Bob, but for me Black is MY color for amps, just like these.

I've always liked black. It sit's there and looks pretty without being overly selfish like brighter colors :)

That's why I did bordeux red on my Aluminati speakers, just red enough to shine but not red enough to be annoying.

thnx Matt, Enjoying my time with Merrill Veritas not sure if it is profoundly diiferent than other Class D based amps with my TAD cr-1. I hope you continue your cases with other possible innards. Perhaps a mosfet design is down the road?
Nick

Nick, What Class D amps have you auditioned on your CR-1s? What amps do you prefer on them? Did Class Ds have a signature/similarity that you like, or bug you?

You know what they say; the more you are exposed to your habits, the more you develop a certain taste.

* Black is the night, inconspicuous and dark.
* White (silver) is the light, and shining like a smile from the sun, or the moon at midnight.

She likes what she likes, I like her when she looks good to me. :)

Black is the night, inconspicuous and dark YES and listening in the dark is the BEST.:):):)

PS: Some like blondes, some like brunettes, some like redheads, ME i like them ALL.

I have auditioned the TAD m2500, veritas twin, rowland 201 and today starts the new rowland 525. THe veritas actually put out the most heat. The 525 after being on did not put out any heat not even a little warm. The bass in all was tight and the background noise was dead silent. However the air, width and depth of sounstage was just somewhat veiled and narrow. I am hopeful the rowland will work out well as I love its small footprint on my desk, the energy is more than adequate for my cr-1(86db)speakers, and the price is very reasonable. I hope to demo Vitus RS-100 next week. So far Viola labs symphony has been the best but sadly comes in a huge 125 pound box that barely fits my avaialble space.

Nick

Wow, Nick, you've tested a nice collection of amps there! Would you try/consider the Viola Concerto? It's much smaller than the Symphony and probably has the house sound of Viola, albeit in a more narrow power window.

Got the cases back from anodizing today and put a special touch on them, sadly these look way better then the ones i have..... :D

And some record pucks i'll be selling soon :) :)

Matt, those things are by far the coolest things you have ever designed and built! Two thumbs up. :disbelief:

Matt, very very nice.

1. Is Emotiva using some of your concept designs for their 'own' turntable (with acrylic platter and reflective "blue" light)?
2. Emo/Carver tube amps (and subs too); what's your own take?
3. XMC-1 with Dirac Live now; what do you think?
4. Silence; is that a good thing? ...Or a bad thing? ...In the middle?
5. Andrew Robinson, and a new Emo proboards facelift; you like?
6. KeithL.; is he up to the challenge with the type of 'clientele' who frequent the Lounge?
7. Chuckienut, and Hemster; no question here.

Just asking your opinion as I have very high esteem for. :)

1, I know they are calling it TT~1, which i use.
2, I think it's cool, they'll still be hi end products but at a more direct to customer price.
3, Tact is going thru something weird right now, their site got hacked and Boz seems more interested in lighting then audio.
4, Good and bad lol
5, Andrew is a good guy, i sent him some of these amps to try out. The new forum is just that, new but i'll get use to it soon.
6, People take advantage of Keith, they just love when he answers questions, sometimes people ignore other replies, they just want Keiths answer.
7, hahaha

Oh I know that, and unlike another place where you can't! ;)
But I want in too. :) ...You know, like someone who can also communicate.

You too Andre! All the good people are already over there; how come I'm here? :D

To be honest Bob i prefer it over here, simple audiophiles that don't think that there GOD.

What a coincidence Andre! Today (this afternoon) I finally am an official member over at Audio Circle! :D
You can check, I am North Star over there. ...Total number of posts so far: 1 ... But it's a good one! :D
My main goal was simply to get in. ...Mission accomplished. My next goal is to purify my soul even further. ...I'm always in search of my true family; I think they might just be living in the jungles of the Amazon. ...Plus here too. :D

* Thx Matt for your reply; me too I like Andrew. ...And I like the new design too. ...Different 'sound waves' in general too than before.
Not really better, because mainly of that XMC-1 fiasco, and not worst too, because everything that is not good for Emotiva get deleted.
It's not a public forum, it's a running business. ...Or you like it and drink with them what they're "preaching", or you see clearly through them and you just know what to do; stay far away.

Brian (Klipschfan) wanted me to take a few shots before i shipped his amps. I assembled, tested them in DIY room and shipped them yesterday :)

The amps originally had the front sanded raw but Brian wants and needs all black amps. They re anodized them for free.

Matt

Amps look great!. Hope they sound half as good as they look-Thanks Matt!.
Please let me know of any other future builds......

BIG Thanks to Matt for an outstanding pair of cases containing fully assembled Hypex Ncore NC400 mono blocks!. Matt has immense talent, super creativity and a fanatical attention to detail. Looking forward to see what else he builds in the future. One thing is a given, it will be top notch!.

Amps now have almost 500 hours on them. Pleased to report that they do sound as good as they look.
