First pics of the production Kondo Kagura 55 Watt SET mono amplifiers. One of the pairs that my good friend Katsura san is proudly displaying will be on it's way to NYC shortly:exciting:

Wow, those are massive!

Maybe with what seems like a re-emergence of 845 based SET amps more tube companies will consider producing this tube. It would be nice to have more options and perhaps prices will be a little better too.

These babies are 211 parallel SETs. This is the new Kondo Flagship amplifier.

Steve, these amps will NOT be located in my studio. They will located at a very good friend/customer's home with a special Kondo Dac, a Kondo G70 preamp, and Kondo Biyura speakers. They are available for demo at anytime with normal scheduling.

That's for clarifying Bob. Do you hear sonic differences between 845's and 211's?

Hi Doug, it's a little difficult unless you can switch tubes in the exact same amplifier. With the Kagura only 211's can be used. I personally can tell the difference, between 2A3's, 300B's, 211's, 845's etc. They all have their individual characteristics. Again, personally the overall design of an amplifier is more important to me than what tubes are used. Sorry for being nebulous..........

Oh I totally understand. I just thought there was some kind of generalization between them, and I'm sure there is, like for example the differences between a 6L6 and an EL34. But I do agree that it's all about the design and how the tubes are implemented, and not the tube itself.

That Kondo stuff looks fantastic. Wonderful review in the November Stereophile.

Hello Art, the other Art- Dudley that is, really did write a nice article on the Overture and about the Kondo history in general. Art Dudley is one of the nicest people that I've ever met...and boy can he ever play the guitar as well.

Bob, I remember hearing the Kondo gear in your room at the NYAS and seeing that very gentleman in the pic there. One of my two favorite rooms! The sound of Louis Armstrong singing St. James Infirmary was jaw dropping! You had 3 rooms, great gear in all of them, but more importantly, great sound in each!:audiophile:

Are you planning to show at the NYAS 2014?
