You want to share that with everyone ?

I just looked at my email sent file and I've sent 267 personal emails to Lars over the last six months. I am a Raidho dealer. Feel free to publish any of the 267 personal emails that I sent to Lars if you feel compelled to do so.

Go ahead and tell everyone what a stand up guy you are.

I'm not going to stand by while you take shots at David !!

OK, I think we've beaten the Magico issue to death. So....back to the opening topic. What speakers for Joe?

Here's a thought Joe:

Sonus Faber Anniversario. Same sound as the Strads, better footprint.

Joe are you in the NYC area? If so, why don't you come by and hear the S5s with the ART amplifiers?

Thank you Myles. I'd love to take you up on the offer. The next few weeks are crazy at work but if we can find a day that's great for you, I'm there. I am sure they are wonderful.

Hey joe,

What kind of speakers you looking for? Organic (flat earth, prat etc) or audiophile? With the Cornwalls and harbeths I assume you want something dif as in audiophile - super accurate etc but not necessarily toe tappin?

I still think you have to go for the strads because until you do you will always want to have an affair w them! :)

I am not sure how to answer that Jock. Sure I want accurate but not at the expense of musicality. I know that I can't have it all but with the Harbeth and Cornwalls, another warm(ish) speaker might not make as much sense. The Strads were the ones that gave me goosebumps. Maybe adding Harbeth was going too close the the Strads but somehow I think it might be different. Strads and Raidhos make sense but now I'm getting crazy, or am I?
Btw

Go to Myles and listen. You will sell your turntable once you hear the tapes!!!!!

Evil laugh :ninja:

Joe

There is a pair of the speakers Mike was referring to for sale in Brooklyn in the Graphite finish.

Sonus Faber Amati Anniversario | Full range | Brooklyn, New York 11209 | AudiogoN - The High-end Audio Community Even has the Make Offer button.

Thank you Jack!

Joe

Is there a way for you to get John Rutan or one of the other Vandersteen dealers close to NYC to set you a private audition of the 5A Carbon and use gear you are familiar with? The way you heard them last time was certainly not ideal in terms of set up to make a determination if you like them or not. There is another one of Richard's Premier dealers in Summit NJ. That dealer, Audio Nexus also carries SF and Revel.

Jack,

I think I could. I know Bruce wants me to hear Vandys under better conditions, and so do I.

Joe

You might even like my Vandie model and it would save you a boatload of money if you don't want or need the powered built in subs from the 5A Carbons. You can buy the Treo CT with the 5A Carbon tweeter for about a fourth of the 5A Carbons, They will go down to 29hz as opposed to the sub 20hz of the 5A's. The style and footprint is very similar. If you haven't, you need to read JA and Doug Blackburn's review of the Treo's and Anthony Cordesman"s review of the 5A.
