There's a few more that I need to hear before I commit.

Is that before you commit or before you're committed:rofl::roflmao::roflmao:

By the way Joe, how big is the room in which you intend to put new speakers?

Did I miss the answer of that since I've been a member for the last year here @ AS?

You might even like my Vandie model and it would save you a boatload of money if you don't want or need the powered built in subs from the 5A Carbons. You can buy the Treo CT with the 5A Carbon tweeter for about a fourth of the 5A Carbons, They will go down to 29hz as opposed to the sub 20hz of the 5A's. The style and footprint is very similar. If you haven't, you need to read JA and Doug Blackburn's review of the Treo's and Anthony Cordesman"s review of the 5A.
I do have to say that I miss my studio2 more than my TADs. The D3 are amazing speakers and I admit that I can't get enough of that 3D holographic effect. It's just incredible. I'm just afraid that the high frequencies might be a little sharp for my taste.
How about Avalons? I've never heard anything more holographic 3D and they don't have any sharp highs...
Bob,
My room is L-shaped. It's essentially 14x15 with a 7x9 add-on. That gives me a 21' wall on the long side but can't use 5-6 feet of it. Room volume is actually pretty good and I don't seem to have any room issues, at least nothing obvious.
It also depends of how old are your ears Joe.
Oooooh. Mid hall maestro's 20.7's & Strads, although I will say if you don't intend to sweet spot all the time & do a lot of listening off axis, Strads win. Then again, Wilson Benesch kicks ass........
Joe, I assume you've seen this announcement:

Just get a pair of Westminster's and never look back. Maybe forward too cause they are so damn big, or is that big and beautiful.
