The specs of your speakers look pretty good, even for the Job 225. I'd opt for the newer amp, but that's just me.

Joe,

You mean the monos or integrated?

Thanks for the heads up. I'm assuming you asked Job directly and they said it's a newer gen circuit compared to the 225? I emailed Job a while back and asked them to keep me in the loop. Will reach out again.

I'm curious what's under the hood since I'd like to know what the DAC section looks like as well as the USB receiver. Ideally I'd like to run the Cubox -> Job INT -> Speakers.

As to what "might" be under the hood, I have posted a bit more in the Job integrated thread. It might just surprise you :) as to what the possibilities may be.

I think even the entry level Job 225 will be fine for your speakers. The Job INTegrated and Job monos will have even more power. So it looks like whatever you choose, you will be fine. I would opt for the INTegrated at a minimum, but that's me. You can they the Job 225 and if not enough, send it back and get one of the other ones.

You could always try this one.

Not quite. I have my suspicions but do not have a unit to open up.

This is getting more exciting as the suspense builds. I can't wait to hear it.

Hi Adrian,
I have the 250 and undecided on the Int as I was hopping it to have a bypass for my HT. In your case, the Int with a built in dac and higher power may make more sense than a 225 unless you need more analog inputs (which is converted to digital). But the decision is yours.

Thanks for the heads up Joe. My brother actually has the 225 right now. I'm looking for an 'all-in-one' if you will. My thoughts are exactly the same as yours as I'm highly interested in the Integrated and hoping it will play ball directly with my Cubox(Linux). Looking at what nfnc posted, I'm really interested to know if the amp section is more powerful than the 225 since it looks like it's a newer circuit?

SQ13Z, really grateful for your advice. I'm definitely waiting for the integrated. I was originally thinking of using the LH Labs Pulse Infinity to drive the 225 but this thing is a total wild card right now. From what I've been reading on the head-fi forums, it's hazardous to expensive gear. I'm not in the mood of killing my Focal's so it'd be perfect if the Integrated is using a current version of the Job/Alize DA circuit.

Really interested to know more about the new circuit and find out if it's actually more powerful than the 225.

I have no analog gear so one analog input is fine. Basically, I'm only interested in volume attenuation so hopefully that matches the Pre2.

Bottomline, I'm looking at this like a poor man's (me) version of the Devialet. =)

Hi everybody, I'm new on this site and I Was attracted by all the positive comments and reviews about Job amplifiers. I was thinking to go with the monos 250, but I was wondering about the possible problems I heard I could have to my Monitor Audio speackers with DC current. Has anyone known about effective problems beeing suffered for that? Or it's simply a possibility that for now nobody has experimented (fortunately)? Thanks

Hi Joe,
I red your elogious comments on the JOb amps over the 125 pages of this thread and I see from your signature that you own bryston amps. How do they compare (aside power matter) ?
I just came across Bryston (very badly distributed and sold in France) and bought the BDA2, and looking a lot these days at the BP17 ... What I liked about Bryston sound is the quality of the bass.
There is not very much video on the net to hear the Job gear.... Would say that the bass is better with the bryston ?
Thanks
David

Hi David,

Wow, 2 totally different price points, also 1000 wpc vs. 125 wpc. Huge disparity.

I absolutely LOVE my Bryston 28 BSST2's and there really is no comparison. Tremendous bass and control for the 28's. The Job is awesome for its size. On the right speaker (meaning fairly high efficiency and easy to drive), the Job is wonderful and has great control and sweet vocals with wonderful 3D presentation but when the speaker needs some grip, the 28's take hold but are delicate in the treble and also have wonderful 3D. Bass on the 28's is just effortless and prodigious. My Bryston amps not going anywhere, and with a great tube preamp, superb.

The mono blocs also have more oomph at double the price. Joe, did you get the Integrated yet?

We all await feedback.

Hey all, forgive the question if it's been covered in the previous 1,255 posts in this thread, but has anyone found any sonic advantages to minor mods to the Job 225? I was thinking of replacing the stock RCA Jacks, Binding Posts and IEC inlet (I've already installed an aftermarket fuse and am using the JOB Sweetcord). Seems like for around $200 you could pick up a pair of Cardas posts, Vampire jacks, and a Furutech IEC inlet.

I think Glory did some mods to his when he had it and tweakaudio.com was touting mods at some point at Audiocircle.

Google them.

Thanks, Joe... long time listener, first time caller as they say (been following threads here for a while, just haven't posted).

Winson, Ric (tweakaudio) isn't working on the Job. He apparently had one in to play with, but never got around to listening to it. Sold it off and is not offering mod services on the unit.
