JOB 225 2-channel Power Amplifier ... update ...

It's about time Norman. I am happy you finally got to hear it. It's an amazing piece.

Just for fun I used a power cord with my own cable, sounds pretty good!

How about posting some pictures of your JOB amp with your cables hooked up to it? That would be cool.

I can't tell anything from that picture. You have a camera, right?

I see nothing that resembles a JOB amp in any of those pictures.

you were curious about my power cable, the Job225 is an audio video cabinet that is really heavy, not
easy to see it unless I go a lot of trouble to try and move it, you asked about the power cord, I took a
photo of two of mine in a power strip.

Spoke with Rick on modding the Job amp. He has no beard the amp yet and said he would have it done in 10 days. In my experience in audio that's 10x10 :)

Nice talk with him so I will send him my 225 so he can Tommy 10 it. If this amp was not a home run I wouldn't send it in.

Looks like you may be getting back the "ultimate" Job 225. Can't wait for your opinion.

Rick is passionate about his mods and likes going for broke/ the ultimate.

I am not sure ifhe is doing any mechanical grounding of the chassis though. What is he charging, BTW?

Preamp well on its way to keeping its mid year release deadline and will have a remote! If it does really well it may spur a slightly accelerated timeline for the monoblocs. I hear that Japan has discovered the amp and lots of current demand coming from there. A few reviews are in the works for the coming months. Sweetcord will be back on stream in May or slighly before. With the weak US dollar, many ex-US people have effectively experienced a price drop!

Just gave back the loaner and got an update.

No, he asked for a pic of your Job 225 AMP hooked up with your wire.

Thanks for clarifying this again. I have asked twice now to see Bandor's cables going into the JOB amp and have yet to see anything resembling a JOB amp in any of the pictures.

I tried removing the screws to remove the top cover of the Job and 3 of the top section of screws came out but because they are screwed in so blinking tight and the small heads on them 3 got stripped. One must use a small AR that's thin so removing such a monster tight screw is easy to strip.

Never could understand why the heck screws are installed on components so tight.

Is the Job to heavy to move out of the cabinet.?

Could it be Bender you have no Job and you are hear to move your wire? Just asking.

Are you talking about sending the JOB to Ric Shulz at EVS? If so have you ever dealt with him before?

Yes Ric Shulz and no never dealt with him but did talk to him on the Tele. I fear sending it out and not seeing it again for 30 days .

I wish you luck with it, but if I had a hankering to mod the JOB I would start the process on my own with the RCA's and Binding Posts from the Vampire dealer in Gainesville and see what that did. I have had my JOB since October and have had no desire to mod it. To me it is kind of like the Odyssey amps that are really Symphonic Line amps in a plain wrapper. I have owned an Odyssey amp for over 15 years and appreciate what they are for the price Klaus charges.

Have you actually ever had a real Symphonic Line amp in your system before? I have and the sound from the Symphonic Line amp is much different than the sound I have heard from the Odyssey amps I have heard in Klaus's rooms at numerous shows. The Symphonic Line amp is truly a dual mono amp with two power transformers stacked together. The bass and midbass from a Symphonic Line amp will punch a hole through you assuming the rest of your system is up to the task.

Don't get me wrong, I think Klaus is building good amps at a great price. However, if I was dating the third cousin twice removed of a supermodel, I wouldn't try to kid myself that I was dating the supermodel.
