JOB 225 2-channel Power Amplifier ... update ...

Thanks Allen,

I love to share my experience. I think my tolerance level is wider than many here, as I can accept less than the best as long as I am enjoying what I hear. It's the music that really moves me. Playing with the gear is just the icing on the cake.

Are you kiddin' me? Have you looked at your signature lately?!!! :exciting:

Just funning' with you Joe...

I'm not sure Paul. I'm really enjoying the heck out of it. Maybe you could buy something else from me :)

Joe..I'll second above to 100% about trusting the ears, but I agree and disagree to "Playing with Gear" I can accept that when you have at least one set-up that you Love…if you don't then it is not playing it is work

I've been breaking in my JOB225 now that I had to send back the D'Agostino amp ( :( ). This little amp sounds better and better each day. Sweet highs and a terrific midrange!

I'm using my Classe preamp because my D'Agostino preamp doesn't have RCA outputs. I am looking at ordering the Cardas RCA to XLR connectors.

I know it sounds like we do, but this little amp is one of those rare finds. Is it a big boy amp killer? No - but - it's just amazing. Paul - for $1600 its a no brainer.

Joe told me about this little amp months ago. I just couldn't believe it until I heard it in my system.

Sweet highs, amazing mid range (tube like - GASP!) and tight bass.

Can I get a loaner from some one? Don't they have a like 30 day trial in your home ? Now you got my attention but No one has one around my area. :(

Hi Mike

Don't buy the card as xlr - rca adaptors, they are dull and dark. Cheapo Neutrik or Gryphon sound a LOT better, clearer, more transparent.
My cardas adaptors are just sitting in a draw.

Oh thanks!! I appreciate the tip. I'll track some of the Neutrik ones down.

Well mine apparently missed the plane on Wednesday, so it is sitting at the FedEx Office 2 miles away since yesterday afternoon. It is now supposed to be here Monday morning before 10:30am. So I have having to break-in the Pioneer SP-BS41-LR with the Odyssey Khartago SE. They only have about 20hrs on them so things may change some, but what I hear so far is slight rolled of top end and they are extremely power hungry. While this may be a "budget" speaker, especially at the Newegg price, you can't run it with "budget" electronics. My everyday speakers are rated at 86db and tested by John Atkinson at 84db, and these little things are way less efficient. Also they are "little." I had to break out the Osiris speakers stands at 26" plus Isopods to get the tweeters even close to ear level. End the end I have had to take the Isopod out of the back an replace it with a Vibrapod so they are slightly tilted up. Still a great little speaker for a bargain and with a good sealed subwoofer would make a great "starter set"

Congrats!

The wife still doesn't understand why I need 9 pairs of speakers sitting around. As a lifelong pianist she loves music and the hobby to a point especially vinyl, but doesn't get why we need "extras." If she was at Joe's her head would explode.

Ha!

I'm not even sure why I need all this stuff too.
