JOB 225 2-channel Power Amplifier ... update ...

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum. Damn you all, you've got me drooling and I ended up getting inline for a JOB! Can't wait to hook this bad boy up.

Thanks for all the info, pictures and feedback. And thanks to wisnon for helping me out.

Hi Joe, I'm undecided about the amp. I'm currently using the Bel Canto 150s to drive a pair of Clearwave Symphonia 7R. Pretty happy with the sound at the moment. Not sure how much better the Job would be.
Can you post pictures of those speakers?

I am currently using a Cherry Jr. Class-D based amp from Digital Amplifier Company, so I'm excited to hear my system when it gets a JOB. After hearing all the positive reports of how well the JOB does in the bass department, it will be fun to compare to the Cherry since the low frequency grip is one of its strengths. The Cherry is also DEAD silent even with my hear halfway inside the RAAL tweeter in my system, so hopefully the JOB isn't too noisy (heard some reports that there was a low buzz when close to the speaker).

Picture a speaker that disappears in your listening room and creates a detailed depth of sound stage with superior vocal reproduction like no other, and you will find the Symphonia 7R. Contained within the rigid, non-resonant, and diffraction optimized bass reflex enclosure, resides a lightning fast and custom developed ribbon tweeter for the most micro-detail and pin-point imaging possible. The ceramic seven inch woofer with mechanical resonance control dots is the perfect partner. These drivers act as one with our proprietary crossover topology.

The completely hand assembled point-to-point crossover blends these drivers together with a transition that is so pure, only the music comes through, and no details are left unresolved in your music collection. Only the fusion of art and science can make this possible after years of trial and error with one goal in mind; the ultimate stand mounted 2-way loudspeaker.
The Symphonia 7R monitor has all the attributes of the larger Symphonia 72R tower but in a smaller package. They will fit the needs of the audiophile who has a smaller room or someone who doesn't need the higher sensitivity and dynamics which dual ceramic woofers provide in the 72R.

Highfilter, High! :hi: ...And Welcome!

* Is that your reel name, Clayton? ;)

Mine is Robert (Bob, not Job).

Hey Robert,

my name is indeed Clayton. Excited to have a JOB interview soon!

Actually supposed to be moving to Vancouver sometime in 2014, from Kelowna, BC. Lovely city.

I think the quality of the bass will be a little softer (not much) and more articulate. By articulate I mean better separation and a more 3D holographic presentation. Class D, no matter how good tends to be more of a one note bass. I should not generalize but while the volume and tightness of the bass can be better on Class D, the differences between the notes is not as great.

Hi to all,

I was wondering if any of you guys used the JOB with the Dspeaker 2.0 as dac/preamp combo?

After changing many times of configurations during the last 6 year (Phy-hp speakers; vacuum state dpa 300b monoblocks) I finally opted for 2 different amplifier : the Graaf gm-50 and the Nad c 390dd (amplified dac) integrated as the two best amp I had.

I use them to drive a pair of Ridge Street Audio Sason speakers and I am waiting a pair of ESP grand concert Si to arrive here in Canada in December.

I am now considering the JOB 225 as a possible amp, and I am wondering if it will outsurpass the two others I have.

I tried to buy one yesterday, but I guess they were sold out in one day...

thanks for you thoughts/ sharing of experience with the JOB

Jocelyn

Salut Jocelyn, et Bienvenu a l'aquarium des requins! (AudioShark) :)

* Amazing, it's full of French (Canada and overseas) speaking people swimming in the same aquarium!

** Everyone's after a new JOB! :D

That is correct…just "bricked" the DSPeaker 2.0 during FW up-grade…will have a replacement unit within 2wks (as I am out on travel) VERY GOOD pre/ after sales support from the DSPeaker company, and when the unit broke they told me…don't ship it we will talk with our rep in your area and they can replace it for you…THAT is impressive service. and do have a friend that have used one DSPeaker 2.0 with great satisfaction

So I just received the Job this morning... Hooked it up with my primare integrated (as a pre) this evening. Needed one song to get sort of used to the new sound but now sounds great! I directly notice more air, more details, more control. Much larger soundstage compared to my primare integrated as well in all directions. I'm really curious how things will sound broken in and woth a real pre-amp... I'll keep you guys posted! I play with a metrum octave dac by the way for those interested. Thanks all (Joe, Wisnon) for the great info that led me to this purchase!

Glad you are happy. This is so good at this price that it's a no brainer.
