Integrated Amplifiers

Makes perfect sense.

ps I LOVE YOUR AVATAR!!!!!

I want those speakers very much with a great little SET amp. OMG!

I heard it at CES 2013, but over the years, anything that sounds good in show conditions is something to look into. A bad sound at a show means nothing as almost everything sounds bad or "eh" at a show.

i agree tho - i would love to have them. but, even I can't justify (yet, sure glad my wife doesn't read these :) ) adding on to the house to be able to fit them in.

Thanks for the welcome.
Joined mainly seeing allot Wizards posts. He's got the most Vitus pics from the other dedicated thread. I have the now discontinued SS-010. Also owned a Stellio AI-500 and had a friends Sim I5 in the house. All are good units.

Yes wizard it is a beautiful integrated amplifier the build quality looks very good like most products made in Italy, the only caveat for ME is that it as no balanced inputs.

PS: All photos on you're blog are gorgeous.

To get balanced inputs AM Audio will release PA-60X in middle of June.
This could be one of the best integrated amps in the world.

Price around €20000.

I would love to hear this baby.

Has anyone heard the new Rogue Sphinx integrated? Tube front end driving Hypex 180 modules, could be a sleeper.

I'm guessing the Solution 5 series integrated once heard will be a game over moment, I have the preamp & it is phenomenol.

Kev,

I heard the Soulution integrated at the NY Audio show feeding the YG Acoustic speakers. I believe a Linn front end? It was making great music!:audiophile:

Welcome to the forum KLH007! Thanks for joining.

So far I've read great things about the Sphinx from Rogue. All their gear is built extremely well and sounds great.

Joe, Thanks for the welcome! The other players in the affordable category ( to me ) are ICE powered mINT & NOVA125, and tube/ mosfet Jolida 1501 BRC. With the great reviews on the Hypex 1200 based amps, I wonder how much of their magic trickled down to the 180 modules? Rogue's better hybrid amps, Hydra & Medusa, have also been given stellar reviews, how much of that topology made it into the Sphinx remains to be seen. Rogue is also built in America, a big plus. Not an integrated, but Srajan @ 6 Moons just flipped over the JOB/Goldmund JOB 225 @ only $1500, anyone have any experience with it? I own Legacy Focus 20/20 speakers, efficient but lots of cones to control and a couple of low impedance dips in the low bass. Integrateds are gaining in popularity & performance and are money savers in terms of interconnects & power cords as well. I hope this category continues to grow in a competitive manner for companies trying to give us the best sound for the dollar.

KLH007,

What's your first name?

I know some Class D type amps do not like impedances below 3 ohms. Rogue is very easy to talk to on the phone. I once called asking about my Atlas Magnum and Mark O'Brien the president and co-owner picked up the phone and helped me out. I was floored. What a nice guy. I am really interested in trying a Wyred 4 Sound mAMP. They say the first several hundred hours can be tough to go through but after that they are AMAZING.

Hi Allen, yes I'd believe it with the new sound of the 5 series. I will have to make an effort to hear this one at the shows when they get here. Then again, I don't need any amps but that really is a slackers excuse, we don't need any of it. :)

This is one sweet sounding tube amp......The Unison Research Simply [h=2]Italy.........12 Watts of glorious Class A Tube.........i heard it hooked up to a pair of Monitor Audio Gold Towers and it sounded very, very sweet/romantic in the midrange .[/h]Simply_italy.png

Joe, My first name is Kemper. I guess I'll call Mark to be sure 2 ohms is OK. We'd love to hear your impression of the mAMPs.

Thanks Kemper. I've been toying with the mAMP idea. It may take a while.
