Get together at Bob's Rhapsody

Yes the T280 works great with the D3's. and it matches really well with the Absolare pre....it's pretty good. Actually since I added the slabs under the speakers and then started using the 8 ohm taps on the Absolare amps, the SET's drive the D3's just as well as the 200 Watt SS does....same SPL's with no strain.

Today I tried out a Audio Research Ref DAC, on a Jeff Rowland 625, the sound signature altered a bit, as expected but the bass issue was still there, on some music more obvious than on others.Will try and play with the positioning a bit more. thanks.

How many hours do you have on the D3's?

Have you tried the granite/marble slabs under the speakers?
 
Well,after missing the original get together and owing Nelson a dinner, I had my own little get together with Bob this weekend. I recently noticed the Rogers amp on his avitar and knowing he is a Magico dealer wanted to hear it with the S5's. I brought a friend of mine Dave who is also on this forum and has been a great help setting up my Aurrender. I heard the Rogers amp about a year ago when it was using KT120's, now it is running KT150's. I've dealt with quite a few dealers in my hobbying carreer. I can't remember anyone as knowledgable and genuinely nice. We spent about 2 hours with Bob, the Rogers and the S5's. We had a great time and the combo sounded absolutely fantastic. So much so, I told Bob that I thought I had a problem with my sysytem. It didn't sound anywhere nearly as good. Bob was nice enough to stop by my apartment on Sunday, and the minute he walked in, he knew there was a problem. We ended up re-setting my Vitus pre/dac and jockying the speakers around a bit. Problem solved. Sounds fantastic. A truly knowledgable dealer and a VERY nice guy. Thanks again Bob! Very much appreciated.
 
Great story and an example of why working with a great dealer is so important.

Jim, you are too kind, the pleasure was all mine meeting you and Dave. I enjoyed your visit and once we got your system sounding good, I thought that it really sounded great. The Vitus gear is top notch and a great match with your S5's....very nice. And you have a REALLY NICE room!!!

Bob is the best. A real people person and he really loves what he does and it shows.

Not doing D5's at this time. My D3's AND S5's which have never sounded better since I got the Rogers amp although the D3's are going back to Denmark this Wed. Will have them back in about a month. I also now have the S1's and S3's will be here next week.

well im in anytime, but i cant do anything on weekends and between 2nd week of june to labor day i think im working everyday. other than that im always in.lol. im actually heading up there soon to meet joe to hear s3's and bring back the guitar bob was so nice to let me borrow.
