Get together at Bob's Rhapsody

After each bottle of wine I like to clean my mouth with sparkling water, so the next one will be a new taste. Did I explained right? Oh my language limitation m urgghhhhh :(

I understand Nelson, great idea. Even more important when sharing several bottles with friends as you may only get one glass before moving to something new.

Hey NY sharks, what is the easiest way into Manhattan? Flying from Portland what airport is easiest?

Also, can I rent a car for a day from my hotel, or am I going to need to score one elsewhere and do the shuttle dance?

From BV to BV:).....everyone will have a different opinion on the airports. It so depends on the day and the time, it's a luck thing and I almost think personal preference. I like JFK the best, but I know people that like Newark better. I don't know anyone that likes LaGuardia:roflmao: It's about $50-$60 fora cab from JFK and a few $$$ less from Newark. There are shuttles and airtrains/subways. I would be cabbing it and not worry about anything. But if you need a car then you can either rent one at the airport or in the city.

Just let me know if you have any specific questions.

A rental is a pain in the butt in Manhatten and a cab from JFK could be delayed by B&T traffic.

Newark is the best bet and you can shuttle/PATH train to mahatten and then cab it from there. Rhaposody is VERY close to 23rd St PATH train station.

Anything to avoid bridge and tunnel traffic, I say.

Like I said, everyone is going to have their favorite route. But now you know all of the options.

My personal airport route and preference, which I have been using for years, with never a delay, and it costs $7 total is to take the F/E subway to the Airtrain, which drops you off right at the terminal. For someone that hasn't done it before, I still always recommend a taxi or car service, which is actually only a few more $$$ than a taxi. It's hassle free this way with no thinking about anything. It just depends on the time you are going in and out of the city if you are going to get stuck in traffic. But the taxis/cars fly in and out and it never seems like they are stuck in traffic.

OK Bob,

Having been stuck in B&T traffic a few times in NYC, I guess I am paranoid!

No I get it, it happens, but usually only around rush hour....timing makes all the difference in the world. Norman, why don't you jump on a plane and come over here?

Just moved house....so broke, tired and out of extra vacation days. Also have business trip coming up at the same time.

Maybe this Summer?

Need my refill of Bob's good vibe and friendship

I can tell that Bob is one heck of a great Oz (host). If I was living closer it would be a privilege to meet him.

OK, I'm set.
Airfare, check.
Hotel, check.
Now where's that wine shop?

I'm in 'bout 9pm Wednesday the 28th! At the hotel Bob recommended nearby, the Wyndham.

Very much looking forward to meeting the sharks.
