Apparently this not a good topic, i will retrac my opinion and apologize, audio today is pretty much devoid of "opinion" unless favorable and yet many complain about the ad copies for reviews in magazines and the ever revolving door of equipment as everyone keeps quiet about the "nasties" while waiting for the next new extolls from another overnight never seen audio before reviewer/expert...

For the last two weeks I have been playing with the Devialet 400's on Soundlab A1 PX speakers with the last toroidal II upgrade . Too good to be believable ...
 
This was my initial impression too, I did not expect them to be good and they were, sounding like nothing in particular, just good music.


Here Bascom discusses the new PS audio amplifier , various topologies and talks a bit about Devialet, apparently their amp design is not new, except the packaging of electronic and software, of course.

It's phono stage is one its best kept secrets. Forget the whole worry of ADA - it sounds amazing!

I wish I knew... You hear me mike?!?!?! Hopefully in the not so distant future (on slow boat from France) I will be able to compare the d400 to the H30. While it's definitely not Vitus it's a pretty strong player in the higher end amp game.

I meant on the devialet in general...since there is a big back order. Especially on the 400 flavor. But yes...I have one in bound thanks to Joe and Mike...BIG THANKS that is. Excited to consolidate...my wife is too. Off to the reef to sell some stuff now :)

never had a chance to hear the phono stage, it 's flexability was discussed and shown and it was impressive to say the least , what could/can be downloaded ...

What speakers will you be driving ?
The Devialet is a great piece but on some speakers it's not a great match. I've tried it on the Salon 2's, as has another member here, and the Hegel H30 was clearly superior.
