Could you keep your current (or favorite) gear for 10, 15, 20+ years?

edit... Everyone is entitled to an opinion, as Joe stated we all have our tastes
edit... Fyi, actually respect Darrins view and have realized shortcomings in my own review of the Vitus SIA-025. Sorry you see it another way. edit...

No one should be "ashamed" of any "review" they pen. We are not solving world peace, far from it. Maybe just the opposite.

Please, Please, Please, can't we all just get along.

David, I love your opinion on Vitus and everything else you have. Kev, you know I love what a gear whore you've become. :D

There are no absolutes in our hobby, system synergy can render one brand of amps not good in one system, and it can be wonderful in another.

Guys, lets keep it positive. We all have our own opinions, and we can always disagree, but do it with respect.

David,

I see NO shortcomings in any review of yours. I appreciate every word.

Vitus with S5 was far best set up I ever heard on Magico  You got a good taste for sure.

Agreed. Scary good.

Paul, you and I heard the same system. It was amazing.

Would love to hear my XS amps on the S5's or M Projects too!

I know another SS amplifier that really works with the S5. :)

Strumento perhaps? Myles, you are killing me. :D

Very un-solid-state-ish and faithful to the music.

And I haven't even had a chance to use the amplifier with its matching preamplifier yet. :)

Sucker definitely runs hot; kitties appreciate that though! Sweet Pea at the spa. :)

Myles, what is MSRP on that amp?

Not sure the price of the the monoblocks. The stereo amp that's in house is IIRC 28K. And they have to get rid of those European approved WBT binding posts!

Darrin, oh well you must be right. I will now remove my review of the Vitus SIA-025 as i've now realized it is innacurate.

Hi David,

Don't change a word of that review. I just read it and it was gold. I'm actually not even sure which Vitus amp Dpod4 was referring to with his comments. I was thinking that it might have been the the RI-100 or RS-100 rather than the SIA-025. The SIA-025 is on another level when it is in Class A mode. At any rate, different strokes for different folks.

Best,
Ken

What's wrong with the WBT Binding Posts?

Not the WBT binding post per se Mike but the European/EU approved version doesn't allow you to insert 9/10 of the spade lugs used on American speaker cables (remember they have that plastic "casing" around the binding post!). I remember Wilson switching to these EU approved binding posts and having the same issue on the W/P 5.1 I had years ago. As they say, YMMV....
