Audiophiles without a dedicated listening room — what drives you nuts?

Where do you live that your house requires two separate radon systems?
You just had to take me back there. My house was built on top of an old Radon Factory, woods plowed under for houses. When they came out and measured, I had very high readings. They came up with a plan that was agreed on but the day of the work they decided to try something else as it was less work for them I suppose. Well, the readings only went down by half so they had to come back and do what they were originally going to do. That brought the numbers down where they should be.

My house has a crawlspace under half, and a slab under the other half where the garage and family room is. They first laid down thick plastic over 6" PVC piping with holes in it to draw from the crawlspace. The second fan is for where they had to jackhammer and dig into the slab from the crawlspace.

I was not real happy with how it went but only paid for the initial work but ended up with 2 fans.

Sorry to hear that. I live in NE TN and radon testing is mandatory for all home sales. My house passed the test when I purchased it, but I decided to add a radon mitigation system to drive the radon levels as low as possible.

The good news is that you can't hear my pump inside my house. My stereo room is upstairs and on the opposite side of the house from where my pump is located.

They were very quiet when new, but are mounted to the side of the house so I get some transference of vibration. I will isolate them better when I replace them.

The installer is supposed to install rubber dampers to minimize energy transfer from the pump to your house.
