Amps for Raidho D3's

I was waiting for that reaction.............................You've been lusting after those for a long time !!

:panic:

They must be pretty nice. Hmmmmm. American muscle to the max.

Thank you for sharing. That's a very interesting list. Glad to see D'Agostino and Pass at the top!
No problem! I am glad if I could be of help in your selection process. I can share some other lists if you like. But I have shared this particular one because you seemed to have concerns over the ability of the different amps to control your Raidho's. And the AK numbers are definitely useful here.

Well the Mac's are the most capable Amps in this list......

What did I say Mark? MC2KW all the way.

Thanks!

Aha, MDP is a Linnie?

@ MDP: in that case I can tell you I share the love for the sonic qualities of the Linn Akurate DS. So do you have the ADS/0 or the ADS/1?

Hans, I have the ADS/1. I wish more people could hear what a truly musical streamer will do. We have a member here that just bought the Klimax, I can't wait for him to get it !!

So I just can't even keep up with the changes you make in your gear Mike. I see that you've got the D3's up for sale? And that you got the Alexias? Gotta say, I love the Alexias, but I've never heard the D3's. The question is, are the Alexia's replacing the D3's now? And did you ever decide on an amp?

Seriously, you've got to stop and smell the roses :) I've never seen anyone change out such pricey gear so quickly (other than a certain couple of reviewers for major publications that I know -- and that's just because they get gear as loaners long term). Maybe you should just give in and start doing reviews for TAS or S-phille? You've certainly got the chops now eh?

Bryan - I sold the D3's yesterday and for what's its worth - I do hope to "stop and smell the roses" now. My old back can't take anymore heavy lifting of speakers and mega amps.

Mike

If i could afford the D-3s these would be my amps of choice, i heard the D-1s with Jeff Rowland gear at T.A.V.E.S. 2013 and they where awesome.

PS: One of the nicest sound at T.A.V.E.S. 2013

The fact that i'm a big believer in USED gear if i could not find the Jeff Rowland 9s my next choice would be what two of my friends own, old models of Krell KRS-100s or KRS-200s awesome amps.

Apologies MrAcoustat, my JAWS screen reading software for the blind could not decypher amp names in the images you provided... Which Rowland amp was being used at TAV 2013? At RMAF 2013, D1s were powered by a 400W Rowland Continuum S2 integrated with extremely musical results.

The S2 was also used for the D1s and X1s at CES 2014.

From the Pic it looks like the Rowland 925s at TAV 2013.

I will also add.

I received a Rowland S2 integrated Sunday and it sounds very very good with my Raidho D3s. A little lean for the first day and last night it sounded a little fat. I was told it will take 300 hours to really sing. So another 10 days and I'll let you know.

My first impression is that it is a GREAT value and can hold it's own very well. I bought it for my office system that I'm going to use a Lumin A1 and the Raidho X1s. I'm hoping for a killer little system.
