Damn that's a good friend!! I'm having a hard time getting my best friend to lend me his 12ft ladder. Lol.

If in NYC anyway would strongly recommend hearing Viola Labs at Sanjays Ciamara time permitting.
Enjoy your weekend in big Apple.
Nick

Mike, I agree, as long as you are making the trip, you should be going to see Andy (I think he is open on Wed.) and Sanjays as well.....why not, you are going to be here. Stay, one extra day and really dig into all that exists here.....take a big bite out of the BIG APPLE. Also by planning on just a 5 hour visit, what if something happens with timing on the arriving flight....then you are screwed. Stay an extra day!

Plus, my place is MUCH BETTER in the evening/night than during the weekdays. I am in a commercial building and there are several hundred computers with DIRTY power supplies on the grid until around 7 at night. It makes a significant difference. If you want to hear my stuff at it's best it is in the evening or on the weekend. It's doable during the weekdays, just not as good as at night....where it's the real dea-as in magic!

Got home and tried the track. Before popping w the Dag stereo it was a 94.5db avg w 103db peaks no subs. That's using a NTI XL2 at ear level 10' from speakers.

And on that track, it wasn't overly loud to listen to.

Kiwi - can you explain the popping I'm getting at 93db? Is it because of my amps (Classe CAM600)? Why is this happening?

Update- I talked to Lars today and he said that the D3's actually take 37,250 hours to fully break in. That's only four and a half years, so mine will be fully broken in by 2018. :snicker:

Maybe this list of Power amplifiers is of any help. It comes out of the well respected German audio magazine Audio. So far I could always verify their test results and they are 100% independent. This ranking is based on the sonic quality only. The column in the right is the points. But I think more interesting in this thread is the column called AK (Audio Kennzahl). This number represents the ability of the amplifier to drive a speaker. It is the ability to keep stable under very low impendance, the power output, the dampening etcetera. The higher the number the better the ability to drive a difficult speaker. They have a similar list for all the reviewed speakers but unfortunately the Raidho's wre never tested. The most difficult speaker in that list, and probably one of the most difficult to drive anyway, is the Apogee Scintilla Mk4. I don't know if it is the 1 Ohm or the 4 Ohm version they have tested but the AK is 89. The easiest speaker to drive is the JBL Everest DD 66000 with an AK of 35.
