Allen's Listening Room

Thanks guys! I LOVE this room! The speakers have some room to breathe. With the acoustic treatments installed thus far, the room doesn't sound like a bloody mess either. The speakers really do disappear. But there's still much more work to be done: a dedicated HVAC, some accent lighting, more acoustic treatments to open up the sound, and last but not least, some new gear.;)

You forgot cable management. LOL!!! :D

I'm assuming those double doors are there so you can wheel in those TAD Reference Ones. :D

Hey John, long time no see!

Well, unfortunately the Tads are no longer in play. I decided not to get the TADs after all for a number of reasons. But I do have my eye on something else right now that I'm quite excited about.:exciting: More to come as that takes solidifies and takes shape...

You forgot cable management. LOL!!! :D
Haha, you're absolutely right!! Like I said, a work in progress! :D

Thanks guys, really appreciate the kind words!

Jeff, couldn't have done the room without your help and patient guidance! Thank you my friend!

Thanks for sharing with us Allen! You must be enjoying your private walhalla there.. Dim the lights, take a glass of good wine and you're good to play your favorite music in the ideal conditions. That is what it is all about.:cryforjoy:

That's exactly what I'm doing right now, Hans. It's my oasis from the real world...

Lol!! That the first thing I thought when I saw the dbl doors. How many big amps and speakers you can truck in there.
Allen I love it. The wall color , the nice trim. All first class!!! Congrats!! Can't wait to come and check it out!!!!
Oh I know a guy not too far from you(that often goes record shopping right down the road from you) that is in the market for some beige bass traps, lol!!! :D

Hey Steve,

Thanks, Steve, really appreciate it. We were talking paints - it's that Farrell and Ball paint. Believe it or not, it's called 'Mouse Back'. It may not show in pics, but it has a brownish grey tint that does resemble a mouse's color!:P

Well, tried to get you here this holiday week but I guess our schedules didn't work out. Next time my friend! I'll have some vino waiting...

They're here!:D:exciting::exciting:

I wasn't sure I would be getting my speakers today due to the forecast. Lucky for me, the snow held off just long enough so my dealer was able to bring me my goodies in the morning!:woot: And here they are..:

Moving downstairs was a bit tricky, but the guys at HiFi House knew exactly what they were doing to protect my gear and my house:

The D'agastino amp is absolutely stunning. More beautiful in real life than any photo can convey.

Here it is all together. Because of the cold weather, Wilson recommends that I not remove the protective plastic until at least an hour after being at room temperature. So here I sit using all of my will power to not take the plastic off and install the heads and turn on the music...
