Alexias on order!

Got the bank account draining phone call last night, paying the balance on the Alexias and for my replacement HRS base for the AMG turntable. The speakers are supposed to ship today.

It will be so very nice to have the drama of the theft and insurance nonsense in the past. 2013 was an extremely odd year for my wife and I, and this insurance thing is the remaining tentacle I am yearning to be free of.

Yee-haw! Finally came to agreement with the insurance company. Considering the business losses (which were not covered) we ended up a long way from "being made whole" but we've come to an agreement and can put this part of the saga behind us. I'll file a claim (though I doubt it will be covered) with my business insurance, to see if we can't get something, but there is a big sigh of relief today in the Vineyard household.

Thanks, fellow Sharks, for putting up with my tales of woe. I'll be back to my smiley shark-mouth self in no time!

Fitting too, as my Alexias are supposed to ship today.

(Hopefully no copyright violation for catching the shark.)

YES!!!!!!!!!!
There is always light at the end of the tunnel

I suppose maybe if they put two tunnels back-to-back, there might not actually be any light at the end. Hmm.

But, in my house today, it is BRIGHT, BRIGHT, BRIGHT — but it'll get dark soon, then warmed by faint glow and dim light of some new ARC tubes. YEAH BABY!

What new ARC tubes?

Interesting you ask... The plan is to get a Ref10 pre, and likely a Ref75 or 150. Given the room size and fact I won't be able to seal off the space anytime soon, I will probably sacrifice a very tiny bit of sonic purity and go with the 150. I think with the pre I will be gaining plenty of new purity.

So new ARC gear, (including the tubes), will accompany my Alexias. I'll have to start a thread in the ARC category.:D

A huge congrats Bob !!

You've been waiting a long time, once the music starts, it will fade from memory :woot:

Got 'em!

They were delivered yesterday afternoon. Shipping company totally knocked the skids off one crate, but the crate appears to be fine otherwise. Gotta say, when I opened the "uppers" crate and found a couple Bose Wave Radios I was hoping for a little more. On the bright side I can now listen to music in more than one room! :roflmao:

And the fun begins! Congrats Bob, do enjoy with your favorite trace mineral replacement :audiophile:

Huge congrats Bob! :woot:

Enjoy the setup and break in process. It's not painful at all.
