Oooh Baby! My dealer just sent a note saying my Alexias should ship from Provo on the 17th.:D

But... they're going to sit waiting for some new carpet for the room, being measured for today. And then there is the little issue of the rest of my gears :panic:

As I expected, after all the urgency of filling out the insurance forms, and the comments they wanted to resolve things as quickly as possible, they continue to find ways to drag their feet.:shooting:

Bob, chin up buddy, it'll soon be xmas :snicker:

Patience my friend... The wait is well worth it! :audiophile:

OK, can I cry to my fellow sharks... I need to vent.

First, I should be getting the call from my dealer tomorrow asking for final payment as the Alexias should ship tomorrow. YIPPIE!

But, the insurance thing has become a bit of a nightmare. (Who might have seen that coming? Besides me, of course!) After all the time spent putting together the most detailed spreadsheet of lost items, and their replacement values, and countless phone calls to get police reports and other documentation, the insurance underwriters decide another "full investigation" is needed.

So they assign a fellow I later learn is a real snake-in-the-grass. First, he wants to come to visit our home in Portland to survey and wrap up some questions, 4 months after the fact. We were advised this was nonsense, so we declined his visit. Next he says he needs a detailed inventory valuation of OUR ENTIRE HOME CONTENTS!!! We are also advised this is nonsense and decline. Then I learn from the first guy who came to our house, and investigator/ombudsman, this other fellow is really an ass. Comes across as your ally, then misrepresents your comments in his reports. I have to tell the second investigator all my comments are un-educated wild-ass guesses because I have no experience with the fine print of the contracts and I will need legal counsel for any further discussion. True to form, his reporting mischaracterizes comments made in good faith.

Then I learn the 2nd investigator asked the 1st about ME, trying to disparage me as if I am trying to perpetrate some fraud.

Today, this is being run up the chain of my wife's employer, hopefully reaching their legal folks who will take action. Sadly, It may finally come to my wife and I having to get our own representation and bring suit.

I spoke today with the broker in my wife's firm. I mentioned that after all the comments about how "this is very important" and "we'll do whatever is needed to drive this to resolution" the time has come to step up. Hopefully the corporate attorneys can send the letter that will move this to resolution, as the corporate letterhead will have some clout. Else, I am afraid this saga is only moving to the 2nd phase, the phase where lawyers earn all the dough, and we just end up screwed a little less. No kisses, no lube. Its gonna hurt! It is already clear there will be no payment for the business items losses, anything "for sale" isn't covered in the contract. So I'm already out $32K. Sure would have been nice if the relocation folks had advised us properly on that one.

OOUCH! good luck Bob! Man I hate insurance companies, they are there to pick up your yearly fees but forget who you are once you have a large claim.

Ultimately, once I get my room setup again, I'll be leisurely swimming through the tank with my fellow sharks, listening to good music, drinking good wine, with a big smile on my shark-mouth. Rigorous bike rides followed by trace-mineral recovery (cabernet, syrah, viognier) while enjoying the post-ride endorphin buzz, all while grooving to favorite tunes—hell ya, I've got lots to look forward to.

Insurance companies suck. But life? Life is good.

Long live the shark tank!

Oh man, so sorry it's not a close case yet .

+1!

Great attitude, Bob!:coolyeah:

Bob,
You've got the patience of an angel. Really frustrating to have to have this stress. It's bad enough to have had the moving theft, then to have to navigate the insurance loopholes and prove you are not a crook is totally unfair.
You've built up some great kharma credits so i'm sure your new system will be blissful.

The saga continues... with respect to my stolen items and insurance; we got a preliminary offer today. Of course, they excluded all my business items claims (the coverage was for "household goods") which I can live with. I don't think I'll get any sympathy from my business insurance either. With respect to the audio gear, for some odd reason they chose to include some items in their offer, and exclude others. The reasoning didn't make sense, so we'll push back on those items (since I have photo evidence of those items) and hopefully soon we'll have resolution.

That said, my Alexias were supposed to ship last week, but my dealer hasn't given me the phone call for the balance of payment, so there may have been some hold-up.

The day is approaching:woot::D:panic:and I can finally get to re-assembling a system. All these photos of vinyl purchases lately have had me yearning...

Bob - the insurance situation will sort itself out and the Alexia's will be your reward for your frustration and patience! Anxiously awaiting their arrival!

Bob, I had snow delays (both shipping and delivery) and they arrived almost a month later than expected. They are well worth the wait!:audiophile:

I haven't received mine yet but my dealer is asking for final payment. I understand my mine are about to ship.
As Allen says they are worth the wait. :audiophile: I believe he is correct.
